This is the classic in Indian Law. This edition (1982) is a thoroughgoing revision of Cohen's original 1942 edition, which updates some topics and deletes others; however, it also eliminates some of the discursive sections in the original. The main problem is that it's 20 years out of date at this point, and so leaves out current developments in case law and statute. Nevertheless, it's a valuable overview of the subject, and is a great starting point for your research in most areas of federal Indian Law.
