Book Description

An appaloosa horse is the only eyewitness to a killing, a sack of Montana sapphires is missing, and only Heaven knows the whole truth.

In "The Man Who Fell from the Sky," some themes of "Ghost" meet "The Horse Whisperer" in this full-length, paranormal whodunnit mystery that is packed with romantic suspense, danger, dark secrets and high spiritual stakes.

Cody Bliss, angel detective, is assigned by Heaven to the mortal body of J.R. Wilder, a paroled murderer, in order to solve his own previous untimely demise and take care of unfinished business with Mariah, who is unable to move on with her life until she knows what happened to her missing husband.

Against the backdrop of a western Montana ranch near Glacier National Park, and in the company of Mariah and her tight-knit family, Cody (inside the body of J.R. Wilder) must solve the murder mystery using forensic clues and the spiritual powers of an angel. He must also yield to J.R., whose body he is using, as that tragic man falls in love with his former wife.

In The Man Who Fell from the Sky, almost every character has a deep, dark secret. And the clock is ticking. If J.R. Wilder doesn't change his lifestyle, the Angel is Death is coming for him, too, and soon! Not only that, his former cellmate shows up with a proposition that could be his undoing. That man has a secret that J.R. desperately wants to know, a missing piece of his own life puzzle that has haunted him for years. To add to the danger, the dark angels try to tempt the angel detective by using Mariah.

This is a full-length novel (100,000+ words) with a cast of compelling characters, each of whom is seeking truth and redemption in their own lives. Only an angel detective can set things right and the consequences to an entire family, and the fate of a troubled horse, rest in his hands.

It's a love story and I found the plot pretty well written. Trish  |  6 reviewers made a similar statement
Maybe it was the writing, with too much explaination and too little "showing me" what was happening. Hearts On Fire Reviews {Family of Reviewers}  |  1 reviewer made a similar statement

4.0 out of 5 stars A Surprisingly Good Read February 10, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
This is not the genre I usually read because of past disappointments, but this book really surprised me. I actually enjoyed it! The book is flawed, but I read a James Lee Burke novel at the same time, and it was also flawed, and he's a master. The premise was interesting and carried out nicely. The characters are well constructed and very appealing. She's got quite a cast of characters and sub-plots going in this book, but never once did I stop and say, "Huh? Who the heck is that, and what's happening?" I appreciate that a great deal--take my money but don't waste my time.

There's also a very nice touch of humor added to the angel, who will be returning in this series. I'm actually looking forward to the next book, and that's unusual for someone who doesn't usually read romance or paranormal novels. He's very likeable and someone worth spending time with--a good-natured angel doing serious work without taking himself too seriously.

Also surprising was the romance. Hot, steamy, and wickedly good without tipping over into the lurid. (I'm still blushing.) There's a lot of love in this book, including love of the landscape, horses, a certain kind of lifestyle, and between individuals. Stepping into this novel is like stepping into a believable world of ranches and food and waterfalls and animals and romance that wrap around the reader and take away the outside world. What a delight.

The formatting is also better than the usual eBook, and that's always a pleasure. The story flows without interruption from more errors than story.

I had a casual acquaintance with Eve on FB, which is why I gave it four stars. If I'd stumbled on this book without any acquaintance with the author, I would have given it the full five stars.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good Book June 21, 2012
By Trish
Format:Kindle Edition
I really enjoyed reading the book. I found the concept of an Angel inside a person interesting. It's a love story and I found the plot pretty well written. The only thing that annoyed me a little was when it was repeated a little too often (over and over and over again) that she (can't think of her name at the moment) kept thinking of her dead husband while falling for her new man - it was like, okay I get it! At the end, she wore the ring her dead husband gave her plus the ring that her new husband gave her. That was a bit much for me. My husband would not go for that. I gave the book 4 stars because I did, overall, enjoy the storyline.

4.0 out of 5 stars A Fall From the Sky into Love May 17, 2012
By George
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
I enjoyed reading The Man Who Fell From the Sky, though I don't often enjoy books with as much emphasis on religeon as is present in this story. I simply don't like "preachy" stories. What made this particular read so interesting is the way it's presented. The characters are actually believable! Their beliefs and the ways those beliefs force the charcters to confront their own shortcoming smakes you care about what happens to them! They surprise you at almost every turn! The plot twists in unexpected ways. The ending is such a surprise that I had to go back into stort to see if I had missed something! There is chivalry that is so natural to the characters and bravery from totally unexpected quarters! A really nice read!

5.0 out of 5 stars "CAPTIVATING, UPLIFTING, AND DEEPLY MOVING!" May 1, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
Inspired by J.R. Rain and human emotion, Eve Paludan delivers a creative Masterpiece, based on good verses evil. Within the pages of this delightful and interesting book, the reader is introduced to refreshing waterfalls, ranches, animals and much more. The story is beautifully written with rich, evocative words, and nostalgia. The characters are genuine, and there's never a dull moment. I highly recommend "THE MAN WHO FELL FROM THE SKY:Angel Detectives Case #1" to all romance lovers, who enjoy stories that will tug on the heartstrings, combined with humor and suspense. The author takes the reader on an emotional roller-coaster ride with angels. The angel investigator comes to life, the fantasy is charming, and the romance is sparkling. The engaging story reflects on faith, redemption, forgiveness, and happiness. The heartwarming story is not only impressive, but thought-provoking, page-after-page as we ponder on inner-strength. Long after the book is closed, the reader will crave for more compelling stories of hope, love, and trust. This entertaining book is as touching as HIGHWAY TO HEAVEN, as romantic as CITY OF ANGELS, and as enchanting as MICHAEL.

5.0 out of 5 stars Love this story! May 20, 2013
By Jessica
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
An intriguing, supernatural story of love and change and moving forward. After Cody's death he requests to be assigned as guardian angel to Mariah, but his request is denied.... sort of. Instead he is returned to her, alive and mortal once again but in a different body, charged with helping her move on and also with finding the truth about who killed him.

I LOVED this story! The writing is fantastic, the action is fast paced, and the dialogue is totally believable. The fact that it has horses in it doesn't hurt my feelings any either. :D It's also plenty long enough to keep you entertained for days on end. If this is #1 I can't wait to read #2!

Good, a bit predictable. Set in montN! With horses and a mention of natural horsemanship. Look up the type of training mentioned on YouTube.
