a page-turner in the Stephen King tradition,
This review is from: He Fell Through Clouds (Kindle Edition)
I demand many things of a novel: action, depth of characterization, and above all, high-quality writing. That's why I compare Ulf Wolf to Stephen King. In some ways, I think King would be flattered by the comparison, because King often (but not always) neglects the spiritual side of his characters in his relentless pursuit of the twisted and seedy. "He Fell Through Clouds" delivers on every important front, as the plot swerves around hairpin turns and the narration pauses only briefly for just enough back story to keep events in context. Having read most of Wolf's published fiction, I also find that he is a true virtuoso of language, reminiscent of craftsmen like Hermann Hesse, Marcel Proust and John Fowles.
