Fish - Nice Live Album Recorded On the Fellini Nights Tour, March 1, 2007
This review is from: Fellini Nights (Audio CD)
This is another two disc live album from Fish taken from the "Fellini Days" tour recorded in one take in Amsterdam. The biggest difference between this album and the earlier live one that I own ("Uncle Fish And The Crypt Keepers") is that there is no Marillion material to be found on this one. Everything is from Fish's solo career. The middle aged Fish is showing some wear and tear on his voice on this one as he obviously can't hit the high notes that he once could, and by the end of the show his he can hardly talk, but he makes up for it with vocal passion. This is a nice collection that contains material from all of his studio albums except for "Suits". The arrangements stick pretty close to the studio versions for the most part. There is not as much Fish in between song ranting on this one, which may or may not be a good thing depending on if you like that aspect of his shows or not. There are no overdubs on the record so you do hear a few mistakes here and there. They botch the beginning of "Vigil In A Wilderness Of Mirrors", but get back into the grove within a few seconds. Overall this is a very nice live package and serves as a nice overview of his solo career.
