Might not be comfortable for small hands after continual use,
This review is from: Fellowes 5BTN MOUSE SCROLL-USB PS/2 OP BLK/SLV AMBI ( 98911 ) (Personal Computers)
I bought this mouse at a store because it was cheap (less $20 almost 2 years ago) and I was sick of the wheel-mouses. The five buttons are really handy and I no longer feel comfortable without those extra buttons.
Pros: 1) The two buttons on the side was used more than I'd expected when I bought the mouse 2) The scrolling and the "click speed" doesn't seem to be affected after almost two years. I do notice that the cursor seems to drift like other users have said but I'll chalk my drifting to my use of it on the bed. 3) Others have said that my mouse is very sensitive (although I don't know if this is without the Windows settings). I'll say this is a "pro" partially due to my love of [the game] minesweeper. 4) The cord gets caught under something (usually a textbook) on my desk more times than I can count and I am surprised that it still works after all my accidential yankings. But see Cons #1; the two might be linked. Cons: 1) For the past few months, the mouse had failed to respond and I had to unplug and then replug it. (If that doesn't work, I repeat the process or stick it in another USB port for a few moments.) 2) The silver material changed colors due to my body heat. At first, contact areas turned darker to an almost blackish color. The mouse is now black in areas that my hand don't have contact with and the areas that turned black first is now turning white from the paint wearing off. 3) I do notice that the wheel squeaks after reading another review's comment but I don't know when it started. 4) My hand is starting to hurt possibly due to the height of the mouse althought I hadn't notice anything when I first got the mouse. My hands are small so this might be a reason. --- The CD that came with my mouse didn't seem to do anything that Windows can't although I can't be sure because I'd use the CD right after purchase. I am in the process of buying another mouse at the time of this review because I cannot stand using this mouse any longer. I advise people to test this mouse out if they can because I couldn't at the store that I bought it at--the packaging got in the way.

What a great clutch mouse! This thing has saved me plenty of times when working on older machines that wouldn't recognized USB at boot. I tried the PS2 adapter on a few of my other USB mice (newer models) and this was the only one that older motherboards would recognize. This mouse was incredibly comfortable to use, even for hands as large as mine; everything is right where it needs to be.
I just wish the cord was about a foot or two longer, it feels really short to me compared to everything else I have.

I've had this mouse for about two years and after that time and a lot of abuse its occasionally shows some 'drifting', last couple of months, might be dirty I have never cleaned the optics. It has never interfered with my work, photoshop etc. My abuse has been from pulling on the mouse, cord caught or too short in some situations, see below, and occasionaly angry stomping of the mouse on the pad when winblows crashes/freezes.
Other than that flaw after all this time my only complaint with this mouse is the cord isn't long enough to reach around my monitor to the tower on the floor, may not be an issue for most people though. Only one mouse I have used with my system setup as it is had a long enough cord and it must have been 7' or 8' long this cord is probably 5' or 6' long. Of course the finish has worn over the buttons from extended use but the buttons haven't lost any spring or response like other mice I've had for a long time. This design is also one of the better ergonomic setups I have encountered nice contours on both sides and could be used equally well by lefties as righties. I've used it with a mouse pad and wrist support so my hand hovers over the mouse without placing any weight on it. I'm buying another one of these as a backup for this one when I break it or maybe to use on one of my other systems I'm setting up. You don't have to spend $40-50 on an optical mouse just because it says microsoft or logitech on it.
