Fellows Privacy Filter, March 16, 2006
This review is from: Fellowes BLACK FRAME PRIVACY FILTER 19/2 ( 93781 ) (Personal Computers)
This product does just what I wanted. Makes it impossible for someone seated at my guest desk to see what is on my screen. I do taxes and clients come and pick up thier returns while I am working on someone else's information. This way I don't have to shut everything down. Plus, it really did away with the glare. I did not have that much but now I have none. It was hard to find this product. They only seem to carry filters for the skinny monitors in the stores and other filters I looked at through web searches were either not the right size or way too much money. This products pricing and functionality are perfect!

The item arrived quickly but was broken. When I contacted the supplier, they sent me a replacement that arrived even quicker (without a hassle and at no additional cost). The item works great and does everything it claims to do.

My eyes feel better already, December 14, 2010
This review is from: Fellowes BLACK FRAME PRIVACY FILTER 19/2 ( 93781 ) (Personal Computers)
INSTALLATION:
I was really excited about getting this anti-glare privacy filter. The filter fit my screen height-wise, but was a little too wide for my monitor. Because of that, I couldn't use the attachments that fit over the monitor. I used the velcro it came with instead.
FILTER size
11-7/8" (height) x 16-1/4" (width)
FRAME size
13-1/2" (height) x 18" (width)
I was actually really disappointed in the instructions. There is a wire that comes out of the black frame. The end of it has these metal pinchers which are somehow supposed to go to your desktop. The instructions have a picture of where it's supposed to go, but my desktop is a little strange in its configuration and I "pinched" the area where there's metal and to my knowledge, this feature on the anti-glare privacy filter doesn't work.
ANTI-GLARE
Despite that, the filter is really easy on the eyes. I didn't realize how much I strained my eyes until I got this. I feel that my work productivity is already better because I don't have to concentrate as hard when I'm looking at the screen.
PRIVACY:
The privacy part doesn't work as well as I thought it would. If you're looking at it straight on from a distance, you can still see everything clearly. I thought it would "fuzz out" from a distance and it doesn't at all. If you look at it from the side a little, then only part of the screen is blurry. The privacy part isn't such a big deal for me since I have nothing to hide at work and so I purchased another one for my co-worker because we're mainly using these for its anti-glare capability.
