I've used it to laminate my insurance car cards and several other small documents, and this machine works perfectly.

With just one pass is enough to have a nice strong laminated document. I usually pass it twice just to reassure the laminating is stronger.

It warms up in a few minutes.

Very nice product.

I am very pleased with this laminator. It is a lightweight laminator for home use. It should only be used with 3 mil pouches, but it accommodates a large variety of sizes, from luggage tags to "menus." If you order it, be sure to order pouches at the same time; I recommend the assortment package initially, which contains enough sizes (except menu) to get a good start.

It works perfectly for my needs. I have a number of recipes that I've printed out to keep in the kitchen and the inkjet ink had gotten wet and smeared during use. I'm so happy that I could re-print and laminate them; they look great!

As per the company, the Fellowes laminator material can be used with dry erase markers, which means you can make re-usable calenders, games, or checklists. Print the calendar or game board on a piece of paper then laminate it. I only have a blue dry-erase marker right now and it does leave a bit of color after wiping, but that happens with whiteboards too.

Finally, despite being glossy, the laminated items work with an optical mouse and I'm going to make myself some custom mousepads.

I bought this for home and small business use. I tried it out for the first time last week. It is very easy to use and the results were good. I did have to run it through twice, but no big deal. Amazon had the best price around. Don't even bother to go to any of the "office product" chain stores. I went to one to buy some laminator pouches and ended up ordering them from Amazon. I got twice as many for half the price!

I purchased this laminator to perserve 11X13 newspaper pages. It's a perfect laminator for home projects. It was easy to use and I was very pleased with the quality of the product for the price I paid.
I love shopping on Amazon...so far, I have NEVER been disappointed. GREAT DEALS and speedy delivery ! !

The laminator works well enough as advertised. However, for the price, the Scotch Laminator featured Scotch TL901 Thermal Laminator 2 Roller System here will do BOTH 3 mil and the thicker 5 mil sheets. This laminator only handles 3 mil sheets. We own the Scotch Laminator as well as this one and can definitely recommend the Scotch Laminator over it.

Well, to be fair, it states that it can handle 5 mil sheets...as long as the 12.5" wide mouth is fed something that is the size of an index card or smaller.

Pass on this.

I ordered this item to do a lot of laminating work for some upcoming events to make my signs stand up in the often lousy wet climate that we have in my area. I've put about 30+ sheets through it so far and it's done rather well but I have a concern about being able to clean the machine if something happens.

Having the ability to clean the machine would be a great add to this product. I didn't want purchase the much more expensive models that allow for the system to be opened and cleaned so I kind of did it to myself but I honestly don't see why they haven't made it hinged so that the user can clean out any material that may build up on the rollers or whatever else in there.

I've been using the fellows brand sheets which have proven to be rather reliable but I have used some other off brand sheets that I had laying around, I did notice that they were not coming out nearly as clean as the fellows brand product. So be aware that you may want to stick with the same brand due to performance of the machine.

Pros:
Simple to operate unit
Heats up pretty quick
decently fast feed per sheet
works rather well.

Cons:
Does not fully feed the sheets out of the machine.
strong odor of burning/melting plastic first use and several uses after.
potential to get jammed with no easy method to open the case
not hinged to allow for cleaning
oddly not able to accept 5mil products unless they are rather small.

DO NOT LEAVE THIS PRODUCT UNATTENDED WHILE IN USE AND LAMINATE MATERIAL IS BEING PROCESSED. It does not fully feed the sheets out of the unit once they have been completed and there is the potential to start a fire or at bare minimum cause serious damage to the machine as a result. You can let it heat up unattended but not when product is in it. If it wasn't for this flaw I would have rated it a lot higher but this is a major concern for me and should be fore anyone else. If you get side tracked with conversation with a co-worker or friend you can easily forget to pull the sheet completely out which could very well result in serious problems.

So far I've had one instance where the laminating sheet would not feed through the laminator. I turned off the laminator for a little while, and turned it back on and there was no issue. Other than that, I haven't had any other problems with it.

For the money, this laminator can't be beat. Takes a little longer than most to warm up but it really does a nice job. Truly a good value laminator.

I LOVE THIS LAMINATOR! Considering there are those on the market for 10 times this price, this does an AMAZING job! Here is why I love this simple laminator:

1. It's very small & easy to store
2. It's super simple to use
3. Takes very inexpensive paper [isn't picky]
4. Helps make all my kids school work durable & long lasting
5. Is the quietest thing I have in my house
6. Warms up very quick
7. Fellowes is a great company to work with

I accidentally put something too small in there [didn't read manual first!] and I paper jammed it up and they sent me a new one right away UPS. Even though, later a friend unscrewed two screws for me and was able to easily remove the jam. So now, I have two!

This was my first experience with an laminator and I don't know why I haven't owned one until now, it's the best school supply I've boughten this year by far. You have to get one! You need it! I promise.

I really like the size of this laminator. It is perfect for various sized projects. Some people might not like how long it takes to heat up, but it doesn't bother me.
