Lots of space and a good price.,

This is a pretty good deal for a 224 CD Wallet. I was considering the Case Logic Wallet but it is about [price]more than the Fellowes. The construction of the Fellowes is good and similar to my other Case Logic Wallets, the carrying handle is especially usueful as it can get pretty heavy when full. My only gripe is the design of the plastic covering for each CD slot. It is basically an oval shaped hole in the plastic placed near the hole of the CD, while you can grasp the CD hole and top of the edge of the CD to start to remove the CD, you will reach the end of oval so you'll have to pinch the top of the CD to remove it from the wallet. For this case you can't grab the hole of the CD and the edge and remove the CD in one motion. Nevertheless this can easily be fixed by cutting the plastic to open up the hole. Doing it that 224 times was major pain but worth it as it is alot easier to remove CDs now.

I reading the reviews on here I was skeptic at best about buying one of these cd cases. But being that I have well over 1,000 cd's approaching 2,000 I need something big for storage so decided this was the best bang for the buck. This case is well constructed and doesn't tear although some reviewers would have you think it tears just by looking at it. If you feel the need to carry over 200 cd's with you wherever you're going you're an idiot in the first place, this case is perfectly suited for what I need STORAGE. These cases have a cleaning wipe in the front that is attached to the case which is something you won't find in a case logic case that people seem so orgasmic about, which by the way I have two of and they aren't as good as this. Anyway, I bought 3 of these now and when I fill the last one up I will buy another and another these are the best value you will find anywhere.

Nice case.,

Quality of construction is good. The canvas shell seems much nicer than the fake "pleather" that the cheaper competitors use. 224 CDs is a whole lot of CDs! This is enough to get me coast to coast and back! If you need more space, a similar case is available in a 320 CD version.

Sure its a cd folder but they could have least of put the pages on 3-5 rings (instead of stitching the pages in) so at least that way the pages would not be lower than the outer zippers when it is opened up. You shouldnt have to worry about scratching your cds up on the zipper when you try to slide them back in. Get a Case Logic cd folder instead they use ring binders for better organization of the pages. This product is slightly less than average, even though it is only a cd folder they could have made it better for the cost.

An Abundance of Storage Space at an Affordable Price,

The Fellowes 224-Disc Capacity Nylon CD Wallet is in the same category as their larger 320-disc wallet; both offer an abundance of storage space at a very affordable price. I own two of the larger 320-disc wallets and one of the 224-disc ones, and I am pleased with all of them. The only difference between the two is obvious: storage capacity. When full, the 320-disc wallet appears to be bursting at the seams, but it is not (read on). The 224-disc offers a little more breathing room when completely full.At first, I may have been a bit skeptical because I read some of the other reviews about the nylon stitching starting to come apart, but this has not happened to me. Even the two oldest (both over a year old) 320-disc wallets are still in excellent condition. Am I lucky to receive three Fellowes CD Wallets that the stitching has not come undone? I think not. Rather, I feel that these are quality products and it all depends on how well the end-user takes care of his/her wallets. Treat your items well and they will treat you well. Kudos to Fellowes for making two great products and kudos to Amazon.com for selling these great products at a low price!

This review is about the Fellowes 224 CD Wallet.
Having had the product for a few days now and having organized about a 100+ Audio CDs, 10 to 15 DVDs, Home Videos, Software and Driver CDs, etc. In all about a couple of hundred discs, here's what I think of the product. Pros: Good quality material and excellent construction quality makes this a very strong CD wallet. The carrying handle and the attached CD wipe cloth are neat touches. The CD wallet has strong, hard frame forming the face, back and spine of the wallet, giving an all around rigidity to the wallet. The CD sleeve pages have a capacity of 8 discs (4 on each side) and are sewn onto the spine of the wallet. The quality of the sewing is very robust and the pages can easily take the weight of 8 discs. Each disc sleeve has a cut (unlike the older Fellowes model) from the center to the top of the sleeve making removal of the discs very easy. The back of the sleeve that will be in contact with the face of the disc is soft enough. Each disc fits snugly into the sleeve and I doubt whether any discs would fall off easily regardless of the orientation of the wallet. This is a very nice touch because it's very normal that the orientation of the wallet changes planes quite a lot during handling and last thing one would want is having to put back all the discs. The zipper operates pretty smoothly. Looks wise, this wallet is not bad either, the strong frame giving a nice shape to the wallet and a nice texture to the nylon. Cons or Areas for Improvement. In my case I identified five different categories of discs - movies, home videos/photo discs, music, software, toddler play and learn. So I started organizing movies from the front and music from the back in one wallet. In the other I started home videos/photo CD from the front and software, toddler play and learn from the back. Unfortunately, I didn't have any way of indexing these built into the CD wallet. A big see thru plastic sleeve (that would take an A4 size print of an index I could maintain) would be a great addition. It would be great if the sleeves were numbered (just like a phone diary) which would help in indexing. A zippered page at the end with one big empty pocket would be great value add that would take all the folds, prints, literature that comes with some discs. Maybe a felt tip pen holder would do too! The zipper of the wallet does not open completely preventing the wallet from opening up completely. Though this might be intentional so as to prevent the two sides from opening up completely (the sides do open up to an angle of about 160 degrees which is good enough), but this did at time brought some extra pressure on the zipper wherein the two sides pulled on the slider at the end. Last but not the least, it would have been a great help if the outside of the CD wallet had small see thru pockets for case labeling. In my case, since both look the same, it was difficult to identify which wallet contains what. Pasted a stick on label and problem solved, but could do with something more permanent. Concluding, let me again emphasize that this is indeed a durable and very functional CD wallet at a very attractive price-point (I got on sale)

Great way to organize your CD/DVD Collection,

This organizer is probably one of the better constructed ones on the market. True, it is not the best looking and at times even feels poorly built, but it holds up pretty well. I prefer this organizer because of its binding. Organizers with riveted, ring-binder style binding, etc. tend to give way very quickly. Fellowes bindings have multiple points of contact and are very durable. Another important thing for me is access to my media. I hate badly designed organizers, whose zippers sratch my media while trying to remove or put media back. This organizer has been designed to permit the least amount of interference. For those who need more assurance, Fellowes makes all (gorgeous!) CD organizers for Body Glove. One star for the blandness in looks and the not-so-tough "looking" zipper...I prefer the Body Glove zippers.

I really like this product, I just wished that the album would open completely. I need three hands to use it - two to keep it open and one to insert the cd.

I clicked 1 star but it is really 0 stars. This product has been redesigned. The Old design is nice and I wish I could find them. The new design of the sleeve will scratch your CD's. The sleeve does not let the CD set low enough to keep the top of the CD from touching the hard plastic. The top row of the sleeve lets the CD stick out over the top of the sleeve itself. I just bought 3 of these and am trying to find a way to return them with out getting burnt on the return shipping.

Somethings you gotta see to know the quality,

Alright - Frankly this CD Wallet SUCKS!Material - Very Decent - But thats about all this thing has going for it. CD Pocket Sizes - Slightly smaller than another (Singapore generic brand) CD Wallet that I own. It was quite a major accomplishment to put in some CD leaflets into the pockets. Even the CDs themselves put up a fight to go in. The sleeves are stitched to the base. So you cant really open it up like a binder and sort them the way you would like to sometimes. The zipper - well taking it around the first corner and the last corner when opening and closing is quite an effort. It is not smooth. Perhaps I could scrape the zipper with a candle and that might help - but then again when I am paying good money for the product I expect it to be better than this. Seeing pictures of it on Amazon didnt tell me things like the size of the pockets or the fact that it was stitched in. Oh yeah and lastly the handle is not a soft plastic handle as you would expect in a large capacity Wallet. Its just a strip of the nylon type cloth or whatever that allows you to slip your fingers under. :( I wouldnt buy it again. Wish I could return it - but thats too much of a hassle. |
