5.0 out of 5 stars Work horse!
I owned this model for YEARS shredding hundreds and hundreds of pages and it worked flawlessly, unit....
I accidently inserted an envelope that had a plastic liner.
This caused the gears to bind and the housing cracked.

Still this was my own fault.
Before that it worked flawlessly.

I've heard other say it's noisy, it is but compared to...

1.0 out of 5 stars This shredder barely lasted a year
Recommendation: Buy another shredder. This shredder barely lasted a year with minimal use. I think it was a piece of junk.

1.0 out of 5 stars GEARS BREAK, May 14, 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: Fellowes PowerShred P600C Paper Shredder (Office Product)
TERRIBLE SHREDDER, THE FIRST HAD A GEAR BREAK WITH LIGHT USE. THEY USE PLASTIC TEETH THAT BREAK WHEN SHEDDING JUST 3 PAGES AT A TIME. MANUFACTURER REPLACED FIRST ONE AFTER 3 MONTHS. THE EXACT SAME THING HAPPENED WITH THE SECOND ONE ALSO. VERY POORLY DESIGNED!!!!

I've heard other say it's noisy, it is but compared to the newer ones I have seen in stores it's not as noisy as those are!

5.0 out of 5 stars Shredder, September 9, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)

This one replaces the same model that my wife wore out. Almost an energizer bunny.
Just don't try to. Shred 3x the amount it is rated for consistantly

3.0 out of 5 stars So far so good - a little noisy, January 28, 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: Fellowes PowerShred P600C Paper Shredder (Office Product)
Since usually only negative comments prompt a review, I thought I'd buck the norm and give a thumbs up on this product. As the title above suggests, the thing is working. It is a bit noisier than the cheap $12 no-name brand we had before, but I guess this is to be expected for the power and metal gears with this one. If it quits on me I'll be sure to add another review in line with the previous ones. For now, I'd say go for it. The price is right.

1.0 out of 5 stars Overheats; broken gears, December 13, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: Fellowes PowerShred P600C Paper Shredder (Office Product)
This unit did an adequate job for two years until splitting one of its gears. Overheating was a constant annoyance for any but the smallest shredding jobs. Perhaps I expected too much of a low-end shredder, but even if 10 sheets is too much for it, it should protect itself better against permanent damage.

I'm now shopping for a replacement.

1.0 out of 5 stars Bin Makes Handy Carrying Case for Broken Parts, December 24, 2010
This review is from: Fellowes PowerShred P600C Paper Shredder (Office Product)
What could be safer than a shredder that runs only in reverse? What could be sneakier than hiding the last screw underneath a sticker, so you're likely to damage the product further when attempting to pry it apart to repair it? What could be more frugal than hideously inadequate plastic parts that give out when your bottle of rotary-blade oil is still virtually full? The P600C is a high-water mark for planned obsolescence, and planned obsolescence is a terrific way to boost profits so long as customers can't remember the name of the folks who ripped them off. So putting "Fellowes" right on the top of the blasted thing--yeah, not such a good idea.

5.0 out of 5 stars Shredder, August 1, 2010
This review is from: Fellowes PowerShred P600C Paper Shredder (Office Product)
This shredder is excellent - works well, large capacity for holding shredded papers. A bit noisy, but they all are - this one is quieter than most.
