Fellowes Powershred 220 Strip-Cut Shredder

We bought Fellows Powershred 220 strip-cut machine after going through about three cross cut shredder from different companies within about two years time, this machine does the job, it is quiet, does not jam because it is built solid and cuts the paper in strips. After going through so much pain with other shredders we have found the one which will work for us. I would definitely recommend this Shredder. Just make sure you buy correct size bags for it, the bag Amazon recommends does not fit. Plain old garbage bag fits this machine just fine and saves you some money.

We bought this shredder for heavy duty use. Shortly thereafter, my spouse fed in some junk mail and encountered a jam. He was able to retrieve part of the envelope but could not otherwise free up the cutting blades. He called for support but did nothing further. When I returned home and looked at the part of the envelope that remained, I noticed that the word "nickel" was on the front of the envelope. He had tried to shred an envelope containing a nickel from a charity. We used a pliers to remove the nickel from between the blades and the shredder is continuing to work beautifully. As a bonus, we have a very unique nickel that has teeth marks on it.

First off, if you are looking for a cross cut shredder, you are looking for the 220c-2, not the 220-2.

That said, I have owned a 220-2 strip cut for many years without issue. Looking back, I should have got the cross cut model, but for a strip cut shredder this is certainly the best model I have used in office and home. (Yes, it is overkill for most homeowners, but after seeing how darned awesome this performed in office, I decided to get a better model than the other cheapies that you often get for home use that last you 6 months before acting up or dying completely.)

The first shredder I received was severely damaged and the return and reshipment were a headache. AceDepot did send many free gifts and the shredder that eventually came works well and quietly.
