2.0 out of 5 stars Pretty to look at but directions are pretty bad. December 7, 2011
By Amy
Format:Paperback
I was excited about this book and sucked in by the beautiful photography.

But the directions are seriously lacking--I am of at least average intelligence--a graphic designer who is used to teaching myself things from books--and after reading through the directions I am stumped as to how these things are made.

For example--the birdhouse on the front? How in the h*ll do you get a rounded, hollow, egg shape from that flat little template? There is obviously a floor to the egg/house structure and I don't see how a flat egg template shape will turn into that. And again, the reason that I don't understand it mostly because it is not illustrated or explained.

Even the easier needle felting projects are difficult to understand.

In any case, I recommend paging through this for inspiration but not to expect to be able to make the projects--particularly if you are a beginner (like myself).

There are only a few cute projects in the whole book. So I don't thing it is worth the money.

That's a wonderful book with precious projects, not to mention that the book itself is a work of art.
