Book Description

1892746395 978-1892746399 January 1999 First Edition
A collection of 19 articles that (with two exceptions) were originally published in The International Journal of Psycho-Analysis between June 1917 and April 1935. The editors (all associated with psychoanalytic studies at Deakin U., Australia) present the articles as having not only historical relevance for the groundwork of contemporary theory, but also as addressing issues that are still controversial today, among them mothering, passivity, hysteria, masochism, object choice, and the complex relationship between gender and biology.
