Most Helpful Customer Reviews

1 of 1 people found the following review helpful By Penny Duff on January 2, 2011
Format: Paperback
The editorial reviews of this book gave me a different picture than what I found when I read the book. While I read on a postgraduate level, and therefore didn't have difficulty understanding and absorbing the essays in this volume, the same would not be true if I didn't read on that level. For the most part, these are academic essays not easily accessible to the average reader. Considering that the subject matter should be one of real concern to much more of the lesbian community than those buried in academe, it would have been an improvement to either change the review to reflect this, or change the essay language to provide accessibility.

awfully dry reading. Good if you need to use something for your gender studies or women's studies course though.
