Loving It!,
By "clary1" (Florida,U.S.A.) - See all my reviews
This review is from: La Femme Nikita: Music From The Television Series (Audio CD)
Even though sometimes I like the show more than others, I always like the music that they play. I brought this CD immediately after it was released and I was not disappointed. I really like the song by Morcheeba "Fear and Love". I would recommand any of their two albums, which I purchased and listen to regularly. I also loved the song by Beverly Klass, "Temple" (Unfortuantely her album is no longer being produced.) And I must not forget to mention Depeche Mode with "Love Thieves." Listening to it, I can just feel Michael's pain when he thought there was a possibility that Nikita didn't make it out alive(Ep #122 "Mercy"). The reason I gave the CD a four was because of the fact that they excluded a number of great songs like Sarah Mclachlan "Do what you have to do" and Rhea Obsession "Cun Lacoudhir." However, the music on the CD is great and I advise anyone who loves alternative music and the show to buy it. It will definately be worth it!

Great Show with Fantastic Music,
By Tara (Australia) - See all my reviews
This review is from: La Femme Nikita: Music From The Television Series (Audio CD)
LFN is my favourite show ever, and while traditionally i am a pop/rock lover of music, i have always loved the music in the show, which suits the slick stylings of the concept. This CD has a great collection of songs from the show, though unfortunately it only really covers season 1 music. Nevertheless there is the quietly mysterious, soulful and moving tunes such as Beyond The Invisable (Enigma) and Fear and Love (Morcheeba) moving into angst and pain Loaded Gun (Hednoize) and Love Thieves (Depeche Mode) to the attitude and techno punch of Chinese Burn (Curve) and Magick (Keoki). It may sound a weird and diverse variety of songs to include on a CD but to LFN fans it is absolutely fitting, and every song can be related back to the pain, torment and attitude of the characters and Section One. But even if you're not a big fan of the show, don't let that stop you - my brother is completely non-interested in anything LFN but has his own copy of the CD which he loves. Only one problem, it doesn't have a sequel or two to include the fantastic voices of Sarah McLachlan (Do What You Have To Do / I Love You) and Rose Chronicles (Blood Red / Torn). You'll have to buy their independent CDs! :)

La Femme Nikita T.V soundtrack,
By
This review is from: La Femme Nikita: Music From The Television Series (Audio CD)
The subtle and often unusual background music as well as the sharp story lines helped give this T.V series the huge cult following it deserved. As a fan I feel that the sound track fairly reflects the overall ambience of the series. The choice of songs and musical pieces tend to concentrate on the more upbeat, action sequences. Some of the popular "chill out" or quiet musical pieces have been left out. Shame! If they had been included then this sound track C.D would have been a 5 out of 5!

A Must-Have CD!!,

This review is from: La Femme Nikita: Music From The Television Series (Audio CD)
I too am a huge fan of the show, and found the music to be completely engrossing. Before this CD came out my collection was mostly 70's rock and 80's new wave. This soundtrack has helped me expand my musical horizons, and it is in constant play on my CD changer and my tape deck. It is simply an awesome set of songs. The only thing I want now is a second volume that includes more Gus Gus and Afro Celt Sound System, plus some Rhea's Obsession. If you buy this CD you won't be sorry.

I like this CD,

Being a huge fan of La Femme Nikita, I, of course, had to get the cd. While my taste in music normally runs toward hard rock and metal, I really like this music. It has a nice techno feel to it, with a little alternative thrown in for good measure. I especially like "Beyond the Invisible" by Enigma and Depeche Mode's "Love Thieves", and Curve reminds me a lot of Garbage. While I think this is a great cd, it has one glaring omission: Filter's "Nice Shot". Maybe the producers weren't able to get clearance on the song, but it should have been put on the cd. Maybe if there's a second release, it'll be there. You don't have to be a fan of LFN to like this cd, so go out and get it.

You won't be disappointed!,

This CD puts you in that espionage mood....which is the point of any soundtrack. It definitely brings out some of the best qualities that made the TV show what it is. This isn't for everyday listening, but if you want something interesting to put on in the background while you work (and pretend to be a super spy, this is it). I recommend it for any soundtrack buff or anyone interested in non-mainstream music.

Music for club kids,
By A Customer
This review is from: La Femme Nikita: Music From The Television Series (Audio CD)
This CD is fantastic. Moody, evocative, romantic. My only complaint is that there wasn't more room for more tracks! If you like hard-edged Europop, this is the CD for you. The music supervisor for the show is amazing, in my opinion. I love hearing old favorites on the show and (more often) being introduced to new and more obscure acts that I have never heard of before. That is the only complaint I have, that when these soundtracks are compiled they tend to go with better-known tracks and to take less of a chance on the audience liking unknown quantities. Even taking that into account, this CD is one of my favorites and I recommend it unreservedly.

Nikita...Fresh, Diverse, Amazing,
By A Customer
This review is from: La Femme Nikita: Music From The Television Series (Audio CD)
The LFN Soundtrack is one of the best I've heard. Despite the fact that many of the artists are unknown, it's such a phenomenal mix of musical styles that more people should give it a chance. It's haunting, great for unwinding or revving up...you can't get into a rut listening to the track because each one takes you to a different place. I'm a classical musician, and I find the songs on the soundtrack fascinating, original, and gripping. If you hate to be confined to one type of music or an overall "sound"...you must check this out.

It's a great CD, excellent and fun, but I think that much more songs could have been included. it has important omissions like: "Crush" (Garbage), "Do what you have to do", Sarah Mclachlan... Furthermore, I like it very much the "salsa" and love songs that we hear in episodes like "Treason", "Not was"... I wait for a second release of "La femme Nikita" themes, because I really crazy for"La femme Nikita" & Michael, of course.

The Critics Don't Understand This Unique Compilation,
By Kris (Melbourne, Australia) - See all my reviews
This review is from: La Femme Nikita: Music From The Television Series (Audio CD)
While the La Femme Nikita Soundtrack has used little known artists for all corners of the globe, it is what makesit a unique and quirky little recording. Upon listening to the CD I was surprised to discover that this is one CD that adds to the series and emulates the 'feel' of the first and second seasons. The mislabelling of the "Drown" track by Vibrolux, which is actually "Ground" just goes to prove the electic and eccentric quality of this CD. The bad reviews will not keep the fans of the series from buying because we know that the critics don't understand this one. |
