5.0 out of 5 stars It is a fun book!
It is a fun book! I have seen the excellent original La Femme Nikita and the pathetic US remade. I love the idea that the book drew a nice comparison between the production/directors/leading actresses of the two movies and TV series. It juxtaposed them with one another providing solid background on how did the whole thing get evolved from a French movie that...

3.0 out of 5 stars Only get the book if you are a new person to the show!
I think you should only get this book if you have not been watching the show since the start of it. A hard core fan would know all of the stuff that is in it. There are not alot of pictures and the pictures that are there are all in b/w.

2.0 out of 5 stars A light book about a heavy show, March 27, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: La Femme Nikita X-Posed: The Unauthorized Biography of Peta Wilson and Her On-Screen Character (Paperback)
As a big fan of the show I expected a lot more from the book. It offers very little about Peta Wilson herself other than a scant look at her life and career that was available in most magazine articles (the book is un-authorized). And the synopsis of the series is pretty basic. Half of the tome is taken up with a lot of silliness that is more for kids than adults. There are also very few pictures. It was great to find ANY book on my favorite TV show but I had hoped for a lot better than this....fun but generally to light for me.

It is a fun book! I have seen the excellent original La Femme Nikita and the pathetic US remade. I love the idea that the book drew a nice comparison between the production/directors/leading actresses of the two movies and TV series. It juxtaposed them with one another providing solid background on how did the whole thing get evolved from a French movie that marginally made it in the US box office to an amazing TV hit series. The episode guide was very precise and gave the reader a good idea of the narrative. More, The Idiot's Guide To Section One is HILARIOUS!! If you are a fan of the TV series, you will find it real handy to have this book when you are in the mood to do some reading about the series or Peta Wilson. One drawback is that there are very few pictures of Peta and they are in black and white. (Just a thought: if the episodes of the La Femme Nikita could be in released in tapes like X-File did, it would be great. Also, I think this series would be even a bigger success, if it could be run on the major network.)

1.0 out of 5 stars Nothing New, August 21, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: La Femme Nikita X-Posed: The Unauthorized Biography of Peta Wilson and Her On-Screen Character (Paperback)
After reading what was being said about the book on this page. I have went out to buy the book, but didn't after looking over the book. I haven't read any backstage gossip, nor anything about a realtionship between Peta and Matthew. Maybe there is another book with the backstage information as well as the information about Peta and Matthew.

The book didn't have anything in it that I haven't read online. I was hoping that it was a book that really lets us get to know the characters behind the masks if you know what I mean. This book is for newcomers that haven't yet seen LFN. The fans that are now starting to see season 1.

2.0 out of 5 stars Hokey, Crappy photos, July 1, 1999

This review is from: La Femme Nikita X-Posed: The Unauthorized Biography of Peta Wilson and Her On-Screen Character (Paperback)
This book is great for a guide that takes you 3/4 of the way through the second season, but any fan could have written it. The front cover is also pretty packaging... Inside doesn't look like much. There are few images, and few insights.

4.0 out of 5 stars A good book for new LFN fans, September 21, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: La Femme Nikita X-Posed: The Unauthorized Biography of Peta Wilson and Her On-Screen Character (Paperback)
New fans to LFN will find a wealth of information to help them learn who the characters are and what their role is in Section One.

Old LFN fans won't find much new information here, but the book is a good compilation of information to have at your fingertips for quick and easy reference.

Many of the websites mentioned in the book are outdated and there are many excellent new ones which can be found on the internet.

As a devoted LFN fan, the book was a "must-have" for my collection.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Totally Rad Read, February 25, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: La Femme Nikita X-Posed: The Unauthorized Biography of Peta Wilson and Her On-Screen Character (Paperback)
This has to be the most bitchen book I've ever read. The stuff about Roy and Matthew - talk about hot, hot, hot!!!! Peta should wear flame retardant clothes when she gets around those two!!! I especailly loved all the inside information and in particularly, Peta's awesome fashion statements. She totally rocks the designer racks. And the chapters about the rest of the cast are just as bitchen as the rest of the book. It almost make me want to be beaten and incarcerated and have my life and future stolen, just so I can hang out with these cool people. I think anyone who picks up this book will have a hard time putting it anywhere... For sure a better story than Mark Twain's Huckleberry Finn or Charge of The Light Brigade or The Chunder From Down Under by Darian Forrester. I, for one, will never watch La Femme Nikita the same way again. Definitely not a book to over look

5.0 out of 5 stars Page-turner extraordinaire!, February 23, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: La Femme Nikita X-Posed: The Unauthorized Biography of Peta Wilson and Her On-Screen Character (Paperback)
...this book kept me up till 4 a.m.!

This is not so much a bio of the leggy Aussie actress, as a behind-the-scenes tell-all of the international cable-TV hit, La Femme Nikita. The sections (inside joke!) ...will leave you gasping with a redolent mixture of awe, horror, amazement and, ultimately, admiration.

Drawing strongly on the literary tradition of Dickens' _A Tale of Two Cities_, Faulkner's _The Light in August_, and Susann's _The Valley of the Dolls_, the author manages to evoke the fin de millennium angst of a multi-generational, multi-racial world.

Comparisons will no doubt be drawn between this work and that of Jean-Paul Sartre, but it cannot be helped. What becomes clear by the final chapter is this ultimate, END
