For the semi-skilled weekend craftsman (details),
By Patrick W. Crabtree "The Old Grottomaster" (Lucasville, OH USA) - See all my reviews (TOP 500 REVIEWER) (VINE VOICE) (REAL NAME)
This review is from: Fences & Gates (Outdoor Buildings) (Paperback)
This is the sort of reference work which one can expect to find on the "how-to" bookshelves at Lowe's or Home Depot. The work covers basic fence and gate design, construction, and installation for the average homeowner.
Here we have an 8 1/2" x 11" x 1/4" document with a good number of basic gate and fence concepts, some nice color photos, and a notable number of design details; however, you won't find anything profound or unique in here. These designs are chiefly urban and suburban in nature. If you want information on constructing rock walls or fabricating wrought iron gates, for example, then you'll need to continue your research. For most folks, I think that this diminutive and inexpensive reference will be helpful. But if you're seeking more elaborate designs and materials this book will likely not meet your expectations.

If you want to build fences and gates you will better buy this book. It provides you all you need to build a fence. Although, if you are expecting a lot of illustration of gates and fences, you'll better look for another book.
