help,
This review is from: Fender Ag6 Tuner, Blue Sparkle (Electronics)
This is a great product. If your having trouble your guitar may be severly out of tune or set to a different pitch, turn unit on, hit the calib button till the 6e light is on then stum the 6th (thickest string) if the light changes to a differnt string dont worry, turn the tuning peg on the 6th string whilst stumming untill u see the light for 6e come on, keep at it, it will happen, you may have to turn alot in each direction (usually tighter) but dont give up. then just repeat for the rest of the strings, hope this helps.

Difficult To Use,

Frustration. That is how I would describe the use of this tuner. I am a novice and I find it almost impossible to use. The note indicator lights jump all over the place and I find it very difficult to tune a guitar with it. When I take the tuner out to the piano, the lights lock in on the notes as I play it, but when I try to tune the guitar it seems like it picks up harmonics and won't lock in on the notes.

You can keep the sparkle,

I probably used my old Matrix guitar tuner for 20 years before it finally died on me. I previously tried replacing it with several digital tuners, but kept going back to the Matrix because I liked its Vue meter and I felt that even though the needle was never stable, I was able to tune guitars very accurately with it. After the death of the Matrix, I looked at the huge selection of turners that are now available and decided on this one because it too had a Vue meter (although I'm sure the insides are all digital). It came in the mail today and I tuned up my guitars quite easily. Like all the tuners I've tried, including my old Matrix, it seems to be slightly inaccurate with the 6th string. What I usually do is tune the 6th string a few cents flat and check by fingering it on the 5th fret. I believe the other strings are all quite accurate. I tested both the microphone and cable inputs with no problems. What I like best about this device (besides the Vue meter) is that it is illuminated when turned on. Also, unlike the Matrix, you do not have to switch the tuner when tuning different strings. What I dislike about it is the sparkle finish, but of course that's just superficial.
