What can I say? These string retainers work, and they work well. Drill a pilot hole so as to not stress the wood or the screw.

I installed staggered locking tuners, which actually made these a moot point. But instead of having two screw holes in the headstock, I got these just for looks. They look alright, but I'm not inordinately impressed. I installed staggered locking tuners, which actually made these a moot point. But instead of having two screw holes in the headstock, I got these just for looks. They look alright, but I'm not inordinately impressed. They certainly look nicer than the stamped stock ones, they look like they produce less friction, but I don't believe they have rollers, they merely have a knob on each side the string runs under. If you're really going to use them, you might want to keep looking until you run across some with real rollers. I thought these had rollers. They appear to and I've read in blogs they do. Otherwise for looks and bragging rights, these say "FENDER" (add$$).

I ordered these and the older style guides. I opted to use these. I ground down the nub by the screw hole almost flush; and tighted the screw after it was aligned. Make sure ot leave just enough of the nub to bite into the headstock. Much cleaner looking than the original style.

Had the old stamped one and was upgrading all the chrome some I put one of these on. They work perfect and look good. You get 2 in package (with screws) so I have a spare.

Update I only had one on E/B but went ahead and added one for G/D. Works and look great!!! google "stratocaster string tree placement" if you are unsure of where and how to install.
