Product Description

The world's most popular tube amps just got better! Fender Hot Rod series amplifiers are found on every stage in the world, large and small, and are used by guitarists from all walks of life. Hot Rod amps deliver unmistakable Fender tone and are the perfect platform for musicians to craft their own signature sound. These no-frills amps are affordable, reliable and loud, and they pair extremely well with stomp boxes. The Hot Rod Deluxe III is a 40-watt single 12" combo - the standard for gigging guitarists worldwide. Famous for the low-end headroom characteristic of 6L6 tubes and a versatile all-12AX7 tube preamp, it also boasts luscious Fender spring reverb, an effects loop and more. Players wanting to add a little more output, fullness and stage coverage can even add a matching 112 extension enclosure (P/N 223-1010-000). Additional Hot Rod Deluxe III upgrades include an easier-to-read black control panel with front-reading text, new badge, streamlined footswitch, graduated volume and treble pot tapers, "tighter" overdrive and a Celestion G12P-80 speaker.

And can get VERY LOUD for Public Performance on Stage.

Volume Control: The volume control is annoying, but not intolerable, and can be modified by changing the pot.

If your looking to upgrade from a cheaper amp, I would Highly recommend this one.

I actually had a Hot Rod Deluxe I years ago and sold it. To me this was like coming back home. It's very simple: 1 channel for clean, 1 for distortion, and a distortion boost. The boost is still as useless as before, in my opinion. This amp is not configured to push hard or break up into full-bore distortion. You will get a heavy overdrive at best that's great for classic rock. If you want it heavier, you have to go with a distortion pedal. On the other hand, the clean channel is superb. It's springy and clear just like a Fender should be. If you do jazz, blues, rockabilly, fusion, country, or classic rock, this is an ideal combo. I got this not only to get back to this tone, but because my playing has moved away from hard rock/metal in the last few years. It suits what I want to do and if I want to dip into the hard rock bag again, I have a Pro Co Rat for it. Anyway enjoy this amp. It's workhorse and won't let you down.

if you play rockabilly, I can't think of a better gigging amp than this one. It's reasonably priced, and you get that fender clean sound and reverb..all in a 1x12 that's freakin kinda heavy (lol) but manageable..and nice size for your car. My friend has the hot rod deville, which is also great sounding, but for me it was TOO clean..and I'd have back problems if I had to lug that thing with me wherever I play. I have a gretsch 5120, (tv jones upgrade, also highly recommended) , and these two together sing, man..you get it right to the point of almost feeding back, and that's it...it doesn't get much better than that for me really...even with the way expensive amps...this one can hold it's own with any of em, IMHO. I mean, deke dickerson's vintage standel amp sounds amazing,..but my tone is dreamy in a different way!!! The lead channel isn't useless,..but what it's for, in my opinion, is replicating the sound of the power amp at full bore, but at a lower volume...to give it a little tube hair when you can't turn all 40 watts up...I don't know if that's what fender intended it for, but that's all I've ever used that channel for...kind of confounding that they can't make sound just a smidgeon nicer than that,..but?? they must have reasons...it would get 6 stars with a better lead channel..!! I just use the old distortion pedal and away we go...I'm telling you, if you are into rockabilly style, get this amp, a gretsch, an aqua puss analog delay, a tube screamer and a tremolo pedal and you won't be sorry!! also great for blues, sounds awesome with a strat or tele..or I also play my les paul through it!!...I can't say enough how much I love it...I have a few amps, but this is the workhorse for sure...I would definitely get another if it got snagged,..I might just get one for a spare??!!

Awesome clean tone! You can make it funky, jazzy, bluesy, even acoustic sounding. As far as the distortion channel, it sounds OK. I use this amp for gigging and recording. I love the tone I get on my studio recordings.
Basically you get what you pay for. If your looking to upgrade from a cheaper amp, I would Highly recommend this one.

This is the greatest sounding amp I've ever played through or owned. I bought one that was about 10 years old back around Christmas, and absolutely love it! Possibly the best purchase of my life.
