Very little to do with feng shui in this book,
By A Customer
This review is from: Feng Shui for the Body: Balancing Body and Mind for a Healthier Life (Paperback)
This book seems to be a revision of a previous work by the author on creating a stillpoint in the body. To capitalize on the popularity of feng shui to sell books, the author has re-named his method :"feng shui of the body." There is nothing to merit this title. In fact, the baqua doesn't appear until the reader is 7/8's of the way thru the book. Then the connection is minor and forced. Altho feng shui deals with the movement of energy and a connection with the body could be made, this author does not make it.. The style used: dialogue between teacher and student, only fills up space for what should have been a magazine article.

Another piece of the puzzle,

This review is from: Feng Shui for the Body: Balancing Body and Mind for a Healthier Life (Paperback)
The words feng shui in this book could be interchanged with cranial wave (from craniosacral therapy) or energy body (from numerous energy work methods) or core being (from these 3 teachers in this book) or dreambody (from process oriented therapy or dreambody work). I was taught and opened and confirmed by the teaching in the book. The 3 teachers quoted in the book were very good, and I wish the book had just given a little more information about the teachers themselves. Yes, the writing style was not the deepest, but then the writer is not just the writer, but a generous and brave person who has "passed" on what he has experienced. I also would have liked a little more description of the movement forms themselves, I wanted to be in the practice sessions described in the book. The bagua appearing in the book was surprisingly interesting to me, and I would like to know more about the movement of the bagua in the body and "throwing the I-ching" with the body. This book is not a book on feng shui as other books are, but rather it cuts to the chase about what the essence of feng shui is. It is another piece in the puzzle about how and why we must break ourselves open, release old patterns, and invite organic change. I am sure that Daniel Santos is doing just that and I thank him for sharing his process and his teachers. From pg. 32, "When you realize that you are trying to change without any hope of changing at all, that's when you change. When you accept yourself, you can move beyond yourself. If you are not busy with positive/negative reactions to your idea of yourself, your idea of yourself dissolves and you can move beyond it. It's in this area beyond that you'll find the Center for your own personal feng shui." Let this book come to you if you feel drawn to it and read it not only with your eyes, but with your breath, your heart and even just for the fun of it.

I think this is a wonderful book. I think Daniel brings a newperspective to our ideia of the body and a useful one. It opened myeyes to the importance of acupuncture too. I agree that he is not agreat writer as Carlos Castaneda, for example, but he's sure a good writer and the book doesn't lack in content. I think that the Feng Shui idea is proper and gives a deeper meaning to it than the usual books.
