title is deceiving, November 8, 2000
This review is from: Feng Shui Handbook: A Practical Guide to Chinese Geomancy (Paperback)
This book sounds like it would be in depth for people who know the basics of Feng Shui. Unfortunately, it mainly explains concepts without going into depth. Therefore, you cannot practically apply the knowledge to your home or workplace. The geomancy survey section lacks necesary detail and is confusing.

A Feng-Shui Classic, March 7, 2007
This review is from: Feng Shui Handbook: A Practical Guide to Chinese Geomancy (Paperback)
I just have to set the record straight here, after reading the other review of this book, that suggests there are no details. I have studied astrology and geomancy for over 40 years. You can Google me (Michael Erlewine) to find my credentials.
Derek Walter's is one of the finest writers on feng-shui. Period. I must have 60 books on feng-shui and have at least read in all of them as much as they merited a read. There are a lot of lousy feng-shui books on the market.
The books of Derek Walters and Stephen Skinner are among the very best, and are my hands-on favorites.
In fact, Walters and Skinner (and a few others) are the only writers to go into depth and to explain where certain concepts came from in the first place.
This particular book reviewed here is an incredibly helpful book and lays the main elements of feng-shui out in a clear and detailed fashion. It can satisfy beginners and experts alike.
Considering I see copies here for essentially the postage, what a bargain! All of Derek Walter's books are worth owning and studying.

Well done, October 15, 2009
This review is from: Feng Shui Handbook: A Practical Guide to Chinese Geomancy (Paperback)
I have personally met Derek Walters. He is a wise and knowledgeable man.
This is a great book for anyone considering Feng Shui and it leaves out the superstition
that goes with most Feng Shui books. It is a no nonsense, right down to business self help guide.
I recommend it to anyone buying or building a property.
