the perfect introduction, April 22, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: Feng Shui: Harmonizing Your Inner & Outer Space (Paperback)
with "Feng Shui" being in high demand and scores of "me-too" books already populating some corner of your local bookstore, Ms. Shen's work sticks out of the crowd and provides a surprisingly original introduction to the subject. The book seems equally suitable for readers interested in general background of Chinese culture, and the ones concerned about the quality of their immediate life/work environment. The author's balanced, undogmatic & common-sense approach helps to de-mystify the subject and make it readily accessible -and plausible- to the Western reader. An intriguing twist is the discussion of parallels between some of the thousands-year old Chinese wisdom and modern scientific knowledge.

Good book for the basics of Feng Shui, December 24, 2006
This review is from: Feng Shui: Harmonizing Your Inner & Outer Space (Paperback)
I was looking for a book that laid out some of the basics of feng shui and this book does a good job of laying it out simply and concisely. I especially like how the book is broken down into each area of the home and actually provides insights into the location of items within the home. Overall a good book for beginners to the art of feng shui.
