Ralph de Amicis and Lahni de Amicis, authors, professional speakers, seminar leaders and tour guides create books in three diverse series that reflect their main interests; Amicis Winery Guides, about wine tourism, primarily in Napa & Sonoma. The 10 Minute Herbalist, about natural healing through the use of herbs, supplements and diet. Extremely Motivated Design, about their unique application of Ergonomic Kineseology for supercharging personal and team performance and satisfaction.The previous design series, Fuzion Feng Shui, a global approach to targeted design strategies, has been absorbed into the newer series.
To date they've created eleven books (not including new editions) and besides coming up with the concepts they also produce all of the graphics, photos and maps. They've lectured thousands of times on these subjects in both north and south America, still consult frequently,and currently live in Sonoma California, the heart of Wine Country. They are Master Herbalists and Naturopathic Physicians. Their interest in winery tourism coincided with their move from Philadelphia to the Bay Area. In the process of creating the tour books they started their own tour company, Amicis Tours. They are unique in the area in that they are the only multi-lingual winery tour company, speaking Spanish, Italian, French, German and at times, when necessary, Portuguese.
They have several titles in process including 'The Wine Diet, It's Not Just for Breakfast Anymore', about wine, nutrition and beautiful photos. The next book in their design series is tentatively called Extremely Motivated Design. It is a compilation of previously published chapters from previous books in the series chosen for their special approach, and enhanced to improve their effectiveness and application. The 10 Minute Herbalist is on schedule for an expanded and revised new edition in 2010.
Besides running their winery tour company they also speak for groups and conventions in the San Francisco area. They have five children, eight grandchildren, most of which live nearby, having followed them from the east coast. Which may explain why Ralph & Lahni work primarily in the San Francisco Bay area and don't travel as much as they use to.
