This flashlight is very powerful for the usage of AA batteries. Its light, fits well on duty belt & batteries easy to find (& cheap) if they run out.

After doing the research -- reading reviews and forums -- for an LED light that uses two AA batteries, I settled on the Fenix LD22. I bought another one that "tied" in my view - the 4 Sevens Quark Tactical. They have different features, and I like them both about the same. There's a lot of competition in LED lights, and it's good to see, as the products keep getting better and the prices lower. The Fenix and 4 Sevens lights are very high quality. I've got a Nitecore MT 40 that I really like (larger light and 840 lumens).

I popped in 2 brand new Duracell alkalines and there were no issues switching between modes like some people had described with their LD20 and LD22R5 flashlights when using new alkalines. Low, Med, High, Turbo all clear and distinguishable levels of brightness on my LD22S2. (Bought from edisonbright, fulfilled by amazon)

Never had a Fenix light, so didn't know what to expect. Is it worth the sixty dollar price, I guess that depends on how much you like your flashlights. The operation of this light is very simple to use. On and off push button on the end and a rubber push button at he front to select the 5 different settings. As far as quality goes I'll have to buy a few more lights to effectively evaluate and compare brands. The wand is a must have with this light, it is awesome.
