Feosol Carbonyl Iron Supplement is a pure form of Iron, and the No. 1 doctor recommended iron supplement. Designed to be gentle to your stomach. the supplement is made up of 45 milligrams of elemental iron per caplet (250 percent of Daily Value). Most ordinary iron products contain iron salts that can upset your stomach, but Feosol caplets are different. They contain pure iron micro particles called carbonyl iron. This advanced formula is specially designed to be well absorbed by your body and gentle on your stomach. The caplets also comes in an easy to carry bottle. (Note: The 45 milligrams of Elemental Iron per Feosol Caplet is the same amount of Elemental Iron as in 225 milligrams of Ferrous Sulfate USP.)

I have used carbonyl iron for months, and it is much better for my stomach. This is the only brand I can find, but it does the trick. The other form of iron caused morning upset and irregularity. This form seems to have neither of those problems. I do note that the iron equivalent is less per tablet than ferrous sulfate iron, so you may have to adjust for that.

My iron levels were never good, particularly when I was pregnant. My obstetrician recommended this particular brand, and it boosted my iron levels with minimal GI changes.

I have been taking it for years. If my doctor can recommend it, then I guess I can as well.
