awesome, September 26, 2005
This review is from: Feral Hymns (Audio CD)
This band just cranks out wonderful riffs and melodies, one after another with no sign of abatement. Very consistent. Lungfish is a strange phenomenon in this way- take their song format: the simple riff with sometimes equally symple lyrics, then apply that model across 17 years, and somehow you get the amazingly complex band Lungfish. It's so pleasing to hear rock this primal and evocative from a band that's been around for a while. These guys have never faltered in my opinion.

wow what can you say what a mindblowing album. Each lungfish album does follow a very similar pattern but each release sounds as groundbreaking as the last, with this there 11th album the band sound as fresh and fierce than i,ve ever heard them, daniel higgs gruff but passionate vocals go from mellow to outright anger and his lyrics are as complex and mindblowing as you would expect. If your a lungfish fan you will love this album and if you,ve never experienced lungfish before and are looking for something a bit different from all the mainstream crap you cant go wrong by buying this album you,ll be pleasntly suprised. Also check out the pupils a side project by danni higgs and asa osborne whick follows on the lungfish stlye but with a bit of a folk influence.cant wait to see these guys on tour.
