This title tells the story of the railways of one particular county in Northern Ireland, the Sligo Leitrim and Northern Counties Railway and the narrow gauge Clogher Valley Railway, and includes coverage of the buses operated by the SLNCR and the local Erne Bus Company. The book begins with some personal memories from the two authors, followed by an outline of the railway history of the county, and concluding with a collection of nostalgic photographs.

About the Author

Charles Friel was born in Enniskillen and has been a life long railway enthusiast, active preservationist, photographer and collector of Irish railway photographs and negatives. He is author of Merlin and Slieve Gullion and numerous railway articles. His illustrated talks on railways in the Ardhowen Theatre at Enniskillen have inspired this book. He is a retired Civil Servant. Norman Johnston has family roots in Fermanagh and is the grandson of a GNR Station Master who served at Newbliss and Maguiresbridge around the time of the Great War. He has written several books including 'Locomotives of the GNRI', 'The Great Northern Railway (Ireland) in colour', 'Austerity Ulster 1947-52' and 'Ulster in the 1950s'. He is a retired school teacher. --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.
