One of the first deep books I ever read,

I am 24 years old and I was 11 when I first read this book. There was a cartoon made out of this book, but trust me--the book is way better. It talks about the destruction of rainforests and was the first book that left me shook after finishing the last page. Evidently this book is very hard to find now. It is a true classic and I would recommend it to everyone.
