The Ferret Instruments digital tach-advance timing light's patented illuminator optics have several times the strobe brightness of typical timing lights and keeping the large bright spot on the mark is easy. Rugged and easy to hookup, it fits up to 8mm wires and plugs in for easy replacement. The high efficiency regulated power conversion lets the Ferret timing light run cooler and last longer than other timing lights. Power input clip lead pair has neoprene insulation, 16 gauge copper wire, and sturdy insulated clips. This light is constructed of impact resistant and electrically insulating plastic for survival in the shop environment that is required for a long and durable life.

First light I received would not strobe consistently and RPM read out was never stable (plus or minus 300 RPM). I returned the light and Amazon was right on it sending me a new one. Unfortunately it arrived with no screws holding the faceplate so it wasn't attached to the light and the pick-up line had an electrical tape repair. I returned that one as well and expressed my displeasure back to Amazon. They took the high road and sent me a third light which arrived in one piece and worked like a charm. Was reading solid RPM and showing advanced timing with consistent strobing even at higher RPMs. I would rate the light much higher if I thought the quality assurance was better. If you get a good one - it's great. If you don't then I hope you bought it through Amazon because they will stand behind it and get it right.

6 months later: Had the light now for a little over 6 month and it is a total, no wait, a TOTAL piece of junk. It has quit picking up the signal off the plug wire (multiple vehicles) only reads sporadically and only when you bump the set back button up and then back. It reads for about 15 seconds and then quits again. You may think you're getting a great light here because of the price but it's not true. Given the issues I had with quality control and now it's total lack of performance, stay away from this thing like the plague.
