This review is from: The Ferret's Tale (Paperback)
Robert Mayer has created nothing less than an examination of the human, and sometimes not so human, condition -- all from the point of view of a very wise, sometimes smart alecky, ferret. "The Ferret's Tale" is a story told by a furry little creature named Cleo, owned by a scientist named Ezra ("the Jew") Wroth and his poet wife, Arienne, and their fecund family. It's a story of aphids and inchworms and ravens and ticks; of love and death, of freedom and servitude. Laced with a fine sense of the absurd, it veers from slapstick comedy to dark passages choked with dread. It is unconventional, unpredictable, beautifully written -- and wholly original.

Unique and intriguing,
This review is from: The Ferret's Tale (Paperback)
Robert Mayer has quite an imagination! This book takes you on a roller coaster of emotions including endearment, contempt, shock, frustration and empathy, all the while keeping you in a constant state of curiosity. How could it not when its pages contain robots, reincarnation, conspiracy, picturesque gardens and so much more.I would have never guessed I'd be so moved by a book narrated by a small, furry creature. Made me wonder what is going on in my cat's mind any given day.
