Editorial Reviews

Review

"The extraordinary value of this book is that it enables clinicians to stay current with the newer modalities and details how to obtain the best information for the cost. This is a cost-effective addition to every clinician's library and will benefit patients by limiting their exposure to tests that may not be the most effective in substantiating a diagnosis." -Vincent F Carr, DO, MSA, FACC, FACP(Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences), Doody's Review

5.0 out of 5 stars "BEST" good description, September 23, 2009
This review is from: Ferri's Best Test: A Practical Guide to Laboratory Medicine and Diagnostic Imaging, 2e (Ferri's Medical Solutions) (Spiral-bound)
I have been looking for a text like this for a long time. Three sections comprised of: 1/Diagnostic imaging 2/Lab values and interpretations of results 3/Disease and disorders algorithms

Not only does it have up-to-date, detailed, comprehensive imaging recommendations but it also explains newer technology. The algorithms for diseases and disorders are some of the best I have seen. They include recommended diagnostic imaging and lab evaluations that a lot of texts leave out.

1.0 out of 5 stars not clinically helpful, December 9, 2011

This review is from: Ferri's Best Test: A Practical Guide to Laboratory Medicine and Diagnostic Imaging, 2e (Ferri's Medical Solutions) (Spiral-bound)
I was expecting something more than a text that just gives me normal results. I need to know the possible reasons for those results. A differential list would be helpful. This manual is not useful for the busy clinician.

Excellent reference book - shows which test to order when you suspect a certain diagnosis and also gives you list of possible diagnosis if test results are abnormal. Very helpful !
