4.0 out of 5 stars Pocket derm with lots of potential.
On a derm rotation and only pocket guide I could find. Has lots of info on most common stuff, w/ ddx and 1st, 2nd & 3rd line tx options. Perfect pocket size, fits great in white coat. About 1/2 the photos are too distant to be useful (probably fine for the larger text from which they were taken but for the small size in this guide their useless). Except for the poor...

3.0 out of 5 stars Lots of info, but pictures often too small
This is a small manual, 4" x 6", which appears to be mainly designed to carry in your pocket as you see patients. It has quite a lot of information on some 200 different skin disorders.

I returned this item because there were a couple of things I didn't like about the manual:

About 1/2 the photos are too distant to be useful (probably fine for the larger text from which they were taken but for the small size in this guide their useless). Except for the poor photos its a great little guide for a dermatology rotation or as a supplement to "pocket medicine" which doesn't contain any derm info.

I returned this item because there were a couple of things I didn't like about the manual:

1) A number of the pictures are too small to see the details of the skin problem well.

2) All of the authors are family practitioners. For a dermatology reference, I'd like at least one author to be a dermatologist.
