This review is from: Ferry-Morse 2151 Pepper Seeds, Tam Jalapeno (750 Milligram Packet) (Lawn & Patio)
I got this early last year for spring planting. I live in Michigan, and it was my first gardening experience, though I live in an apartment upstairs, I used pots to garden. I took some seeds and planted in 1 pot, planted in early April and kept inside until it was warm in May After a while two plants came out so I separated them and put in separate pots. One plant was growing stronger/faster than the other. In July the stronger plant started to grow more than leaves, I was excited! Little green balls...Into August the balls turned almost black, and were still balls, so I thought something was wrong. I went to a gardening forum and asked questions and posted pics of it. Come to find out, it was something called a jaltomato plant, native to warm regions in Mexico, and rather rare. Not what I expected from a jalapeno seed packet lol. The jaltomatoes had an extremely mild taste, pretty much all recipes from Mexico lead to jams. The more I ate them, the grosser they tasted too. I kept the plant alive though, it was my first after all =-).

In September the smaller of the plants that I separated started growing more than just leaves! And these weren't little green balls, they looked like mini jalapenos! It had 3 of these things growing, by the end of the months the leaves were dying or dead. The 3 peppers grew a bit more, sized were a little more than an inch to a little less than 3 inches, so not very big. Weather was still warm in October surprisingly too so it shouldn't have been the cold that killed it. Kind of sad it took so very long for it to produce anything, and that anything was so little.

I may have given this too many stars at 3, since somehow I got two different plants in one seed packet, and the original plant I wanted didn't produce much, but it was also my first time planting seeds so it producing little and late could be my own fault somehow.

Happy planting =-)
