5.0 out of 5 stars The best book of its kind
It is the best book of its kind. It tells you everything about your body, your cycle, how to determine where you are in your cycle, what is happening, when you are most probably ovulating and so on. Easy to read, good charts, pictures; good structure. It is not a science book. It is the book that everywoman should read and know, or even your doctor should recommend it.

2.0 out of 5 stars Don't bother with this one, August 21, 1999

A MUCH better book is Toni Weschler's "Taking Charge of your Fertility". "Fertility Awareness Handbook" provides far less useful information. While it gives a general overview of reproduction and fertility signs, it doesn't provide truly useful information on how to use FAM to avoid or achieve pregnancy. I am someone who is trying to achieve pregnancy, and I found this book's single page on "how to get pregnant" a joke. I agree with the previous reviewer, this book basically tells you "you can get pregnant anytime".

1.0 out of 5 stars Save your money!!!! GO TO THE LIBRARY FOR THIS INFO!!, June 17, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Fertility Awareness Handbook: The Natural Guide to Avoiding or Achieving Pregnancy (Paperback)
If you truly want to learn about NFP, go to the library. There are TONS of accurate information in many books offered there. This book gave a fraction of the information needed to truly practice NFP, and the small amount of information given was very unclear and confusing. Had I not had prior NFP background, I would have read this book and said "So basically, this book is telling me that there is no safe time of the month, and I can get pregnant at any time."--information that any woman knows anyway. Save your money and go to the library, there is much more information there.

This review is from: Fertility Awareness Handbook: The Natural Guide to Avoiding or Achieving Pregnancy (Paperback)
I read this book not once but twice and it is truly invaluable when concieving. I even followed the method for trying to concieve a certain sex knowing it may or may not work, and what do you know, I got what I was trying for! It could be coincedence but I do know girls are very rare in our family!

5.0 out of 5 stars If you're trying to conceive this is THE book!, September 18, 1996

This review is from: Fertility Awareness Handbook: The Natural Guide to Avoiding or Achieving Pregnancy (Paperback)
I found this book to be the most in-depth source of information regarding fertility that I've ever read. Whether you are using this book to conceive or avoid pregnancy the charts, graphs and illustrations are very easy to read, understand, and put to practical use. I've learned many new things about my menstrual cycle and changes my body goes through than I ever imagined. I thought I knew it all, but this book certainly provides information that is extremely useful
