This is a truly fine release which hipped a lot of people to MPB. The DDD recording is absolutely perfect and the musicianship superb! Caetano Veloso's voice, entering halfway through the verse on his magnificent Voce e Linda, or Linda as it is called on this release, still causes a lump in my throat. Joao Bosco's perfomance is stellar as well.
How cool was Rit to be playing with the great Carlinhos Brown in 1988? Thank you Lee for making these prolific and gifted artists more widely recognized and celibrated. Viva a musica popular brasileira!!!

I've always felt that this was Lee's finest album. I finally purchased it. The memories it brings back of living in Southeast Florida are warm and welcome. Try listening to it while you're lying on the beach somewhere or pretending you are. Fantastic.

This is the CD where all the elements of Lee Ritenour's music come together: production, composition, and musicianship. Lee's obvious love of Brazilian music shines through and the performances of the musicians is stellar.
Although one of the compilation packages is the best way to start to hear Lee's music, this disc is the one to get to hear the joy in his playing and it's probably his best realized album.

This is just an outstanding work of Ritenour's, added to by Brazilan friends. Has become one of my favorite jazz albums, especially "odile, odila" and "latin lovers." This is good stuff, smooth but with pop.

I've listened to this cassette many times, and I have included it with Bob James on the opposite side. They offer great music and it really relaxes me after a hard day. . .
