Book Description

How much trouble can one small female be to a modern-day shapeshifting Viking? Well…it really depends on local gun laws.

Conall Víga-Feilan, direct descendent of Viking shifters, never thought he’d meet a female strong enough to be his mate. He especially didn’t think a short, viper-tongued human would ever fit the bill. But Miki Kendrick isn’t some average human. With an IQ off the charts and a special skill with weapons of all kinds, Miki brings the big blond pooch to his knees—and keeps him there.

Miki’s way too smart to ever believe in love and she knows a guy like Conall could only want one thing from her. But with the Pack’s enemies on her tail and a few days stuck alone with the one man who makes her absolutely wild, Miki is about to discover how persistent one Viking wolf can be.

This book has been previously published and has been revised from its original release.

I don't know how Shelly Laurenston does it. I could summarize her stories in half a paragraph, there seems so little plot, and yet, the pages rapidly flit by.

I like her women; they are so crazy that even the craziest of the wolves back away slowly - that Miki is a human seems scarcely to matter; she's more wolf than the best of them. And she sees Conall for what he is, a Viking pretending to be a teddy bear. They have such great sexual tension and she's so mean to him.

Go Fetch is funny, and energetic, and you can see what each of them brings to the party, and the odd relationship just works. I'm always happy to spend time with the Magnus wolves but this was an especial favorite. An erotically charged romp. Highly recommended

Conall Viga-Feilan is a hunky viking shapeshifter and is absolutely smitten with Miki Kendrick, a brainy and geeky nerd femme fatale who is completely unimpressed with Conall's looks or his ability to shift into a big wolf. He tries everything to win her affections and she completely blows him off. His packmates think he's nuts for wanting a woman who obviously has no respect for him or them. Of course, the attraction between the two is undeniable, but Miki's not about to drop her underpants just because Conall thinks it's love. And poor Conall is indeed head over heels with a woman who's not only a genius, but is also skilled in the use of weapons and doesn't have an issue with hacking into someone's bank account and giving them a few nightmares or taking him to an all-night RPG (role playing game) session. Meanwhile, a pack of vicious hyena-shifters are out in force to decimate the members of the Magnus Pack and their mates, and Miki's stressing over her graduate thesis.

One of the many things I've enjoyed about Laurenston's heroines is they aren't all aflutter as soon as the hero walks into the scene. They don't stop being real and having an edge. Laurenston's heroines tend to be brash, foul-mouthed, just a few cards short of crazy and pricklier than a seguero cactus and that's why they make the perfect mates for the otherworldly shapeshifters. (I often wonder if authors realize that a wimpy heroine is just not going to make it when their new realities are comprised of being surrounded by things with claws, fangs and/or wings that just might want to kill them in horrible ways).

5.0 out of 5 stars Romance with fun March 8, 2009

Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
This is a great book. She has great story that makes you laugh thru the whole book. She makes you see each person in the book and they do feel like a person. The story is fun, the sex is hot, the book is fast to read. I was laughing at loud in lots of the story. You can't wait to see what happen to Miki and if she really finds true love with her wolf..

Another one for the keeper shelves. Shelly Laurenston consistently does HOT, funny stories about shifters. She delivers great characters, witty dialogue and fast paced plots on a consistent basis. Go Fetch is part of the Magnus series about a pack of motorcycle riding wolves.

3.0 out of 5 stars okay October 3, 2009
I liked her other novels, but I think there was more plot to them. I finished this one unsatified. Miki is an over-the-top heroine, which I don't have a problem with, but I didn't think it was believable to have so many other shapeshifters afraid of her. I also didn't think she had a good reason to hold herself from the hero. He obviously wanted her and she obviously wanted him, so what was the big deal? It was like Laurenston was trying to grasp at a conflict that didn't exist in the story.

This one could have been better.

2.0 out of 5 stars Ok story September 12, 2010
By pammur
The "hero" constantly chasing the woman, and the woman constantly putting him off was very wearing. It went on for the whole book until just the end. I agree with one reviewer that Miki's reasons for doing it were unbelievable. He wanted her, she wanted him, so why did we have to go the whole book of them fighting each other? Plot was thin also. I read the book because I had nothing else to read and it was my first Laurenston book. I may try another.

4.0 out of 5 stars Highly entertaining, lots of laughs December 20, 2009
Another great installment from Laurenston, this book was full of humor, romance, action and drama. The lead male character was just yummy. The female I had a harder time connecting too, but I was still interested to read the story. I'm looking forward to reading the next book.

I've read Laurenston's Pride Stories and Dragonkin series (written under GA Aiken) and they are even better than this Magnus Pack series. Be sure to check them out if you haven't already. Magnus Pack is still worth reading--all her books are. For a long time Lynsay Sands was my favorite funny paranormal romance author, and Laurenston/Aiken has taken over that spot.

Have you read any of her books that she writes under G.A. Aiken? They are pretty good as well.
