Entertainingly spooky young adult novel,

A pleasing little book, The Fetch of Mardy Watt is a spooky young adult fantasy. The main characters, Hal and Mardy, are well drawn and engaging, as are the secondary characters. It would probably appeal to people who enjoyed the atmosphere of the Dark is Rising, although it doesn't draw from the same vein of Celtic mythology.
