Where's Wanna be your Dog?,
By A Customer
This review is from: Fetish (Audio CD)
I'm a longtime fan and admirer of Joan and her music but her new album is way overdue. This is just like throwing her fans a bone with a couple of new songs and unreleased live tracks......and speaking of bones......Where is I wanna be your dog???......that is one of the most sexual songs Joan ever recorded.....guess Up Your Alley is still selling well enough to leave it off.

yet another Jett-compilation.,
By A Customer
This review is from: Fetish (Audio CD)
While some songs on here are great, the overall feel is "been here before." Instead of another compilation that doesn't live up to expectation, how about a whole new album? the title song "Fetish" is good, but not good enough to carry a whole album.

Just a little side note...,

Joan Jett hasn't released too much new material in the nineties, but many fans may not be aware that she did front a group the group Evil Stig in 1995, and they put out a really nice record (in memorial to the Gits former frontwoman Mia Zapata). Check it out. Fetish is okay, but kind of a disappointment. We await something new from this legend - see her live and it's obviously she's still got it!

Jett releases another cd of old stuff,
By A Customer
This review is from: Fetish (Audio CD)
The last few cds from Joan have been nothing more than compilations of previous hits with perhaps a new song or two. Fetish is no different. The difference with Fetish is that Joan chose a few of the more obscure earlier works perhaps trying to pass them off to a younger generation as new. Jett fans of old may be disappointed with Fetish's tired old tracks and lack luster new ones. As a long time Jett fan I certainly am. Jett has a voice and style meant for anthem tunes. Come on Joan! You must have a few more original songs left in you.

Amazingly bad. Maybe worse.,

I have all of Joan Jett's albums, including her stuff with The Runaways. I've seen her live five times and she is, without a doubt, an exceptional performer. That being said, this is her worst effort. Even her live performances on this CD fall flat. A waste of money. A waste of time. A major disappointment.

This disc rocks.,

A greatest hits collection of Jett sex songs. Everything cooks and the disc is solid. With this disc and Fit to be Tied you can have a good selection of Jett hits and rockers. Cheaper than her other albums used Fetish is a bargain for any Jett fan who doesn't want to pay $[$] plus a disc.

Joan rocks like nobodies business,

This is a very good CD. I saw Joan & co. last year in Tuzla, where they played a lot of the songs ont his CD. (I agree with the earlier review, too, that WANNA BE YOUR DOG should be here!) Joan rocks like no one else. Some long time Blackheart fans appear to have been disappointed based on above reviews, but I hadn't heard her for a while, and this was enough to bring me back.

Joan Jett Epitomizes SEX!,
By A Customer
This review is from: Fetish (Audio CD)
At first glance, you might think "Oh great! Yet another compilation disc!". I thought that too, but being a diehard Joan Jett and the Blackhearts fan I had to add it to my collection. After playing it, you begin to realize that this is not an ordinary compilation. With Fetish and Baby Blue being the only new entries, the others are definitely worthwhile!! What Joan Jett does best is project sex appeal, and this record sums it up! From the controversial "Star Star" to the angry "Coney Island Whitefish" to the seductively masochistic Fetish, this CD ROCKS HARD! The ONLY thing that kept me from giving it 5 Stars is I know the kickin songs that are yet to be released, and I'm saving it for that!!!

Nice Collection needs more new songs,
By A Customer
This review is from: Fetish (Audio CD)
I already have this CD with 1 less songs from the Joan Jett Fan Club. This re-release adds "Black Leather" (live). While "Fetish" & "Baby Blue" (not the Badfinger song) are fine new tracks, Joan needs to get an full album of totally new material out. She has an album "in the can". All the fans know this. She just needs to find a distributer who will promote and distribute her. She has a new look and an even harder edge, but is still a great songwriter and performer. She has a very strong fan base but radio seems to like more feminine women with acoustic guitars. Joan was a pioneer for the female rocker. Fetish is a nice collection of tracks dealing with the subject of sex. She has never avoided this subject before and doesn't here. This collection ROCKS. But it could have benefited from the songs "Just Lust" and "Torture" also. why leave those off? Only "Wooly Bully" bores me. It's not needed. I can't wait to hear Black Leather (Live).

This bears looking into...,

It's been 6 years since the "Love is All Around" single was released as a preview to the upcoming Blackhearts album that never made it...3 years since the track listing was issued. The 2 new songs on this album were to have been included on that as yet unreleased album, and one can only assume that Joan is in a way appeasing the record company weasels by sneaking them onto a compilation of old material; a real shame, because if you have seen Joan since then playing other songs intended for her "new" album you'd know they were the best since "Up Your Alley" in 1988.A real shame the industry is forcing Joan into this position, and although there are some great numbers from her included here, I can't help but think that someday soon everybody will be sorry for the noses they turned up to her since "Pure and Simple". Very sorry.
