5.0 out of 5 stars everyone needs to experience the aussie release!, January 9, 2002

well, kylie's new album, fever, is already everything we fans could want and more...it successfully reflects kylie's increasing maturity as a talented artist while still giving us every reason to want to shake it like nobody's business. but the australian release of the album dominates in doing it one better. how's that? this version contains the special track "tightrope" that is not available outside australia. too bad for the rest of us 'cause "tightrope" is easily one of the best songs on the album. it has the kylie pop that we all know and love and an exemplary expression of something deeper behind it as well. good beats as always, and it's also evident that kylie puts every bit of effort into it. the lyrics are clever and catchy without forgetting to be satisfyingly substantial. kylie's the bomb...undisputed! :)

5.0 out of 5 stars One Name Says it All....Kylie, July 23, 2002

Known as the "Wonder from Down Under," Kylie Minogue has always been one of modern music's greatest enigmas. The multitalented Australian singer/actress has achieved great success everywhere in the English-speaking world with the exception of Canada and the United States. In the latter, Minogue was only able to generate one top 40 hit when she recorded a cover of the popular 1960s song, "The Locomotion," back in the late 1980s, After that her entry into the American music scene fizzled as new waves of music started to take over the nation's airwaves.

Regardless of her brief success in the United States, Kylie continued to make herself a name throughout the Commonwealth as she produced one hit album after another. Starring in such films as "Street Fighter" and "Biodome," Kylie continued to expand into other markets, somewhat like Jennifer Lopez has done in our present time. However, music has always been Kylie's first love and with the release of "Fever," Kylie has shown that she is the comeback kid of the new millennium.

"Fever" comes at a time when the music industry has been sucked dry of all original talent. With an excess of unnecessary R&B groups and boy bands, with "Fever" Kylie has ventured back into a musical genre that has been making somewhat of a comeback lately....disco. Produced by former hitmaker Cathy Dennis, who scored several dance hits in the early 1990s such as "Come on and Get My Love" and "Just Another Dream," Kylie has shelved any beliefs that her music will only sell in Oceania and the United Kingdom. The first hit single from this album, "Can't Get You Out of My Head," was the number one song in over twenty countries when first released. With a catchy beat and creative use of electronica, this song brought Kylie the fame she rightfully deserves.

Similar to the style that the Australian group, Madison Avenue, brought to dance music a few years ago, Kylie continues the trend of re-popularizing disco music in a time that listeners can use more dance and less rap. Songs like "More, More, More" and "In Your Eyes" transport the listener to a time when dance was king and rap was just talk on the streets. Similar to her previous album, "Light Years," Kylie has proven that she is a bonafide diva in her own right.

With a variety of musical styles such as "In Your Eyes" (trancelike dance single) to "Dancefloor" (fun, early eighties feeling), "Fever" is definitely Kylie's best work to date. The Australian release differs from most imported versions in that one will find an additional track ("Tightrope") not found on foreign releases. Regardlessly, "Fever" ranks as one of the best, most entertaining albums released in 2001.

5.0 out of 5 stars This Kylie Minogue FEVER CD is great plus with Bonus track, February 3, 2002

I have to say I had never heard of Kylie Minogue until i saw MADONNA wear a shirt with her name on it at the 2000 MTV Europe Video Music Awards. I knew she could not be that bad if MADONNA liked her. I heard in 1989 she did she did a cover of the song LOCOMOTION which i found a bit funny. I also heard she was popular every where but the U.S. When I saw her video for Can't Get You Out of My Head at the end of January, i just could not get the beat and song out of my head. I knew it was gonna be big here in the U.S. cause every place I went to get the Import CD they said they had none left. I managed to pick up a import copy of her FEVER CD at one of the Sam Goodys since it would not be released her in the U.S till February 25, 2002. I have to say the CD is much better than I expected it to be. There is 12 total songs and she has a high pitch voice which reminds me of early MADONNA but she seems to have a weaker voice when compared to MADONNA. My CD is this very hard to find import from Australia which includes a Bonus Track called TIGHTROPE which is one of the best songs on this album, but sadly it will not be on the U.S. version. Besides #13 Tightrope The best songs on this album are #2 Love At First Sight is a great song but it has a bass line that sounds very much like MADONNA's Holiday, check it out for yourself. #3 Can't Get You Out of My Head, #4 Fever, #7 Come Into My World, #8 In Your Eyes, #11 Love Affair, The #12 song Burning Up is good but she sounds like Janet Jackson on certain parts. I can say with the most confidence Kylie Minogue's FEVER CD along with the soon to be hit (in the U.S.) Can't Get You Out of My Head are going to both be big and a huge comeback for Kylie. I give this CD 5 out of 5 stars. The U.S. version of this CD will be out on February 26, 2002.
