5.0 out of 5 stars Give me More More More!
This is the only CD that I own by Kylie Minogue so I can't really compare it to her others but from what I can hear this FEVER is burning hot. From the opening groove of "More More More" to the last more techno sounding "Butterfly" this CD is guaranteed to blow your mind.

3.0 out of 5 stars Some aweseome tracks, but overall...just okay
I wasn't a fan of Kylie Minogue before hearing the song "Can't get U out of my head" earlier this year. But that track alone was worth getting the cd. I got it several months ago and didn't really care for it for the first month or so, but although it took awhile, the cd DID grow on me. The "Love at First sight" album version came off like a Madonna/Holiday rip off, but...

This is the only CD that I own by Kylie Minogue so I can't really compare it to her others but from what I can hear this FEVER is burning hot. From the opening groove of "More More More" to the last more techno sounding "Butterfly" this CD is guaranteed to blow your mind.

About 15 years ago Kylie broke out in the US with her hit cover of "Locomotion", thereafter exploding with continuous chart toppers in the UK. Until recently nobody could remember who Kylie was until the huge radio single "Can't Get You Out Of My Head" came out and did just that. I remember when that song first came out and everyone was humming to it. Its died down now but I hope that she can continue to dominate the pop charts because she really does deserve that type of fame. She's so much more talented than Britney Spears who sounds like a chipmunk when she sings and I think that its time that we recognize that and hand her her rightful crown. With sweeping ballads like "Fragile" and potential chart toppers like "Come Into My World" (which will probably be her next single) and "Love Affair" (which pumps with rhythmic techno) this is destined to become one of the best dance albums ever made. In my own opinion every song here is a potential hit but others that standout from the rest include the r&b spiced "Boy" (which is one of two hidden tracks only found on the US release) and the funky "Burning Up" with its infectuous disco beats. So if you like electronic groups like Daft Punk and Basement Jaxx with fun dance-pop (not to mention catchy choruses) than Kylie Minogue's FEVER is the perfect album to light your fire with.

This is pure ear candy and it's highly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Kylie's World, December 29, 2002
By
This review is from: Fever (Audio CD)
Who would have thought Kylie Minogue would re-emmerge after a 13 year hiatus in the United States? I was shocked when I found out it was Kylie Minogue singing "Can't Get You Out Of My Head", the same girl who sang "The Locomotion"? It's like whoa, what's up?.......Well, I finally heard the whole album "Fever", and it's fantastic. From a target audience standpoint and from what I've heard, it was marketed towards gay men 18-40, but "Fever" miraculously crossed over to find a wider audience, and it's great that everyone can enjoy it. One of the most brilliant concepts of the album is they didn't put any slow ballads on it, which really keeps the energy flowing in a constant, consistant beat. Here are my individual ratings for each song:

MORE MORE MORE: 5/5
fun, energetic, and disco tinged groove.

LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT: 4/5
danceable, delectable, delicious

CAN'T GET YOU OUT OF MY HEAD: 4/5
this really should be 3 stars, but when it first came out in the clubs it was 5 stars, but because we all have heard it a million times, it's 4 stars, make sense?

FEVER: 4/5
poppy feel, very catchy lyrics, starts off bad but ends up hooking you.

GIVE IT TO ME: 2/5
worst song on the album, very obnoxious beat, annoying song, i skip it.

FRAGILE: 5/5
this song grows on you, it's very mystical and haunting, an emotional song that could make you cry.

COME INTO MY WORLD: 5/5
this song is infectuous, the remixes are even better than the original album version.

IN YOUR EYES: 3/5
just your everyday average song....

DANCEFLOOR: 4/5
energetic groove that makes you want to hit the dancefloor.

LOVE AFFAIR: 4/5
another good groove by Miss Kylie

YOUR LOVE: 4/5
starts off bad, but ends up being a great song that makes you sing along.

BURNING UP: 4/5
strange song with 2 different tempos, chorus sounds like a disco sample but it's Kylie, funky!

4.0 out of 5 stars I've got the Fever, have you?, July 5, 2002

Kylie Minogue has created an amazing dance album. In my book that earns her 4 stars. Though the songs sometimes lack quality lyrics, the beats and music create an atmosphere the makes this album truely one of a kind. I'm not a huge fan of dance pop so i subtracted one star for personal taste. Some of the standout tracks are "Fever", "Love at First Sight" and "Dancefloor". For those of you who haven't heard these songs I now offer you a breakdown of each song:

1) More, More, More- I was watching some show on VH1 about disco music and heard this song. It's a remake of a huge hit from the 1970's. Kylie's version sounds better than the original. It has a super disco beat and is a very enjoyable song.

2) Love At First Sight- Kylie's current single. I originally bought this CD and only listened to her first single but this song got me to explore the whole album. This is a super song. It makes a person feel happy and hope that you will find love at first sight.

3) Can't Get You Out of My Head- no matter how hard I try I can't get this song out of my head. At first I thought it was stupid and annoying but it just grew on me. I had to have this album. The song is an infectious mix of synthesized pop and kylie's unique vocals.

4) Fever- sounds like a slow song but gradually becomes something that is totally danceable. One of the stronger lyrical songs on this album. I recommend this to anyone that is crushing on someone. It makes you realize that everyone experiences the same feelings.

5) Give It To Me- This song is a bit to much Britney for me, but just like Britney you begin to really like this song. It's like a faster tempo "I'm A Slave 4 U". It's generally an enjoyable song.

6) Fragile- It is like a ballad that is placed on top of some fast beats. It is a pretty song but would have been better if it was just a ballad. This is the weakest of the songs but it is still better than most dance pop i've heard lately.

7) Come Into My World- Another addictive song. The beginning sounds like Madonna's "Ray of Light" but the song changes after that. The chorus sounds a little haunting. I think it's a great mix of everything that they decided to put into this song. My only recommendation is that you listen to this song.

8) In Your Eyes- This song has a beat that will stick with you forever. I bet this will be a huge hit on dancefloors. It follows in the tradition of the rest of this album, a danceable song that sounds different from the rest of the songs out right now.

9) Dancefloor- I have this song on repeat. It's a short song that leaves you wanting more everytime it ends. This is the standout song of the album. I hope that this is released as a single because it is excellent.

10) Love Affair- another great dance song. Has a disco feel to it as well. It has very pretty lyrics and Kylie's voice turns this into what could be a huge hit. The chorus is a description of a love affair and it well written. Very danceable.

11) Your Love- Very similar to the previous song but with a slightly different feel. Is prettier sounding than lots of dance songs which rely on beats while this song relies more on vocals and there is even some use of guitars in this song.

12) Burning Up- starts a slow song for about thirty seconds and then she says "I'm burning up" a zillion times and then it goes slow again and fast again. This is the trend for the song. It sounds terrible when I describe it but it actually sounds really good.

Basically this is a dance pop CD. If you like dance pop you'll love this CD, if not you might enjoy it anyways. A lot of people I know like this CD that you would think would hate it but it's really popular.

4.0 out of 5 stars America, meet Kylie. Kylie, meet America., February 27, 2002
By
This review is from: Fever (Audio CD)
The last time Kylie Minogue made waves in the US, she had a couple of 1988 hits--"I Should Be So Lucky" and "Loco Motion"--produced by the hitmaking team of Stock Aitken Waterman. Since then, she faded into obscurity while she racked up over 30 hits in the UK, where she sells as many records as Madonna or Janet. "Fever" could very well be the record that will put Minogue back on America's map; it's a great collection of frothy yet incredibly catchy disco tunes. To be sure, the disc has its share of filler, but a handful of the tracks here practically flirt with perfection. "Love at First Sight" is such a bright, perky, highly energetic disco number that has "single" written all over it, while "Dancefloor" is an infectous romp that also stands out. "Burning Up" is an irrestible track that alternates between acoustic and straight-up disco, while the single "I Can't Get You Out of My Head" is a hypnotic song about sexual obsession. Minogue has fallen in and out of favor with critics and audiences alike over the years, but I have faithfully followed her through all this time. "Fever" is a strikingly good record that should give Minogue the US recognition she deserves.

4.0 out of 5 stars KYLIE MAKES BIG COMEBACK WITH THE HOT "FEVER", March 1, 2002
By
This review is from: Fever (Audio CD)
Kylie Minogue is back, though she never left...is back in the states with "Fever".

Her first single currently riding at No.12 on Billboards Hot 100 Singles, and recently a No.1 Club Play Billboard hit "Can't Get You Out of My Head" is an infectious pop dance ditty, that everytime I hear it on the radio I still keep humming after the song is a long time over.

This is one of the best dance albums to come out in a long time with strong production, vocals, and most of all strong dance songs.

Including "More More More", "Fever", "Dancefloor", and the dance hits just keep coming...Not a sorry song in the bunch.

Hats off to Kylie for coming back to the States with such a strong dance effort.

A definite CD for the long ride to anywhere, which will make that long drive on the freeway seem like the time it takes you to tie your shoes. An enjoyable treat.

5.0 out of 5 stars Kylie's best album ever!, February 26, 2002
This review is from: Fever (Audio CD)
This is simply the best album Kylie has ever made, and one of the best pop/dance albums ever! Almost all of the tracks are very good. My favorite tracks are "Love Affair", "Love at First Sight", "In Your Eyes". Even though "Can't Get You Out of My Head" is the most popular song from the album, I think there are many better songs on the album than that one. If you love pop/dance, this is an album you MUST have!

5.0 out of 5 stars Kylie gives me the chills with her Fever!, March 4, 2002

I've been a fan of Kylie's for many years going back to the 80's with her first album, but as America's shine to her dissipated it was difficult to keep track of her. This album was released in Canada last year and I haven't put it down since and I was waiting for her American release so she can finally get the exposure she deserves! Well she has returned in top pop form (after a foray into indie) and this album shows that this is where she belongs. While I admit the songs may sound alike, I have to say that sometimes I just want to listen to an album that makes me happy and keeps my spirits up! "Can't Get You Out of my Head" is an amazing single, but it's not the only song to shine, other great songs include "Love at First Sight", "Fragile" (a little slower beat, but a hummable song non-the-less), "In Your Eyes" (her new single) and "Dancefloor" (it will transport you there!). If you remember Kylie from her early days, or if you're a lover of pure pop, then you definitely have to pick up this album. I guarantee it will stay in your CD player for a long time!

5.0 out of 5 stars Kylie Minogue: 1 of the FEW Dancefloor Queens!!, December 3, 2006
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Fever (Audio CD)
1st off, i'd like to tell you all to ignore the person who left that b.s. comment before me.

But anyways, this album is fantastic. I've owned it since the day it came out, and I have yet to get sick of it. Everybody pretty much summed the album up though in the other reviews.

I hope to hear another good album like this from Kylie (I hope she is getting better from her breast cancer!) in the future!

5.0 out of 5 stars I've Got The Fever!, March 12, 2002
This review is from: Fever (Audio CD)
To be completely honest, I had never heard of Kylie Minogue until her track, "Can't Get You Out Of My Head" starting getting radio play. My friend bought the album for the song (Can't Get You Out of My Head) and we were listening to it in his car and I couldn't get over how awesome the songs were, it was like a mixture of 80's tunes mixed with techno pop. As soon as I heard the title track "Fever", I had to have this album. Since I bought it about two weeks ago, I have yet to set aside and switch to something else. Its like a drug, I need it! haha
All the songs on FEVER are dance tunes, it never slows down, the calmer dance songs are very trance-like and beautiful. The more you listen to the songs, the more they grow on you. There isn't a song on the album that I dislike, they're very catchy. Pick this CD up for your collection if you haven't yet, its definitely worth it!
