Bright Eyes - Hot Knives

Biography

Since 2006 the once revolving cast of Bright Eyes players has settled around permanent members Conor Oberst, Mike Mogis and Nathaniel Walcott, with additional musicians joining them in the studio and on tour. Fully realized and bursting with charisma, The People’s Key is an assured and accomplished album, artfully arranged and filled with the engaging and mesmeric songwriting for which Oberst is… Read more in Amazon's Bright Eyes Store

5.0 out of 5 stars A Great Album, turned better, July 29, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: Fever & Mirrors (Audio CD)
If you've never heard of Bright Eyes, then Fevers and Mirrors is definately the first album you should buy. The import is even better, though more expensive. It includes two extra tracks, which tops off a great cd with some of my favorite Bright Eyes songs like the Movement of a Hand, Haligh Haligh I Lie Haligh, and A Song to Pass The Time. Even the import cover and liner notes are a fun change. And if you are a complete Bright Eyes fanatic like I am, then you will definately want to buy this CD. It's one of my, if not the only, favorite Bright Eyes albums. It combines eerily chill and expressive lyrics and beats, with Bright Eyes' passionate, almost raging feelings that everyone will love. So really, if you enjoy great lyrics and amazing music, and have any human feelings at all, then you will love this album.

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant., October 2, 2003

This was the first Bright Eyes cd that I bought and I wasn't let down. I love how the cd booklet is in both Kanji(Japanese) and English. The extra money is worth it. All the art is awesome. And I have nothing else to say except to buy this cd.

5.0 out of 5 stars .our lives are all fevers., December 17, 2001

this album is one of few that expreses the most beautiful imagry. we all are in the same boat when it comes to living and living with our own hardships. this poetic album is a great display of some of the best from bright eyes. we all find examples of the contents from connors words and can empathise as well as feel his breath in our throughts, when he gasps for air after a long bar of music.it brings goosebumps to your skin and tears to your eyes. if you havent heard anything by them i would suggest beggining with this album, not that it matters but this is a review of this album.
