I would love to see McCall's Meadow. Lisa is an interesting and different sort of heroine. Talk about self-sufficent! She can make a knife using an antler and a bit of glass. A very sharp knife!

I liked Rye also and understand his need to be loved for himself rather than his riches. Although he's a bit hard on Lisa when he first meets her, he is drawn to her like the proverbial moth to the flame. Their love is very sweet.

There is a sequel to this book. It's about Cynthia McCall, Rye's sister. It's called "Dark Fire". I don't think it's as good as this book but did enjoy it. Especially the descriptions of the cloud forests.

Get them and read them.

I literally read the first printing of this book three times before I finished it once. I found myself reading entire chapters again and again. Elizabeth Lowell describes her characters and their situations in such a way that you feel like you know them personally and you are right there with them cheering them on. The story line is unique and the setting she used is picture perfect. I savored this book to the very end. When I finally finished reading it, I put it down for about an hour then picked it back up and started reading it again from the beginning. I was very excited when I discovered "FEVER" in reprint. I have purchased several copies and have given them as presents, because I refuse to loan my original copy to even my best friends.

I am a huge Elizabeth Lowell fan and Fever did not disappoint me. You almost have the feeling of a fairy tale as you read this book. Lisa is a beautiful wood sprite and Rye is the lost wanderer.

The love scenes are steamy, even the innocent ones! You are captivated by his pain and her healing from the first paragraph.

This will go on your keeper shelf.

This was the first book that I have read by Elizabeth Lowell. It reminded me of a cinderella story in many ways. In the beginning I thought that Rye was a bit tough on Lisa but as the story unfolded I realized that some of that toughness was masked by his insecurities and hurts. This had more graphic love scenes than I usually like to read but they were more sensual than they were sexual. I wouldn't rate this as one of the best books that I have read but I have read much worse. It was an easy and quick read and rather entertaining.

I really love Elizabeth Lowell a.k.a. Ann Maxwell a.k.a A.E. Maxwell. Unfortunately, I was a little disappointed in this book. I have nothing against short books. If it is well written, the length of the book is no handicap. I cannot say that about this book. It lacked what was needed in order for me to get a better feel of the characters and their love. I felt as if the book was on fast forward,something that I intensely dislike in a story. It was disappointing because FEVER had the potential of being a great story. Don't get me wrong, it is still a good read. I just feel that it didn't reach it's peak. Read it and see what you think.

This wasn't her best book, but it was good. I thought it was unrealistic -- but then again, it is a romance novel! I'm really tired of virgin heroine's who have no experience and don't know anything about life and heros who have slept around and been with dozens of women. How about some real world people!

Wow! This book is great. Ten straight pages of sizzle

This story is even more compelling than Dark Fire. The title explains jsut what you will find inside. The characters are great and the story steams!!

This would have to be my favorite book that she has written. I bought it a few months ago and have read it several times. It definitely pulls at the heart strings. Lisa and Rye are a perfect match. I buy all Elizabeth Lowell's books and if I could keep only one, this would be it.

I liked Chris from Utah's review. Yes, it was unrealistic, but I really liked Lisa. I liked all the characters. Too bad there isn't a book about Rye's sister and brother. I would definitely purchase. A keeper.
