There are 2 CD's of George available. If you like well played piano, with great arrangements, then these are for you. He had a great career on the club circuit in New York and deserves any and all praise. Unfortunately he has passed on to that Concert Grand in the sky, but these CD's will keep his talent alive.

One of America's favorite pianists plays babyboomer memories,
By Bob A. Martin (Walnut Creek, California) - See all my reviews

Jerome Kern wrote smoke gets in your eyes, The last time I saw Paris, I won't dance, the way you look tonite and many more memorable tunes that George Feyer turns into a listening journey of foot tapping and smiles. This is a very uplifting CD which will have you humming and singing along with some old friends. Definitely worth the price!

The Essential Jerome Kern,
By Dr. Krzysztof Z. Polakowski (ROCHESTER, NY United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Feyer Plays Jerome Kern (Audio CD)
Once again George Feyer has proved he is a concert pianist. The way he plays Kern reveal not only his great musicality, but also his great musical culture and taste. He uses to improvise slightly including some familiar themes from his favorite Chopin and other composers in his accompaniment. All recordings are perfectly remastered and sound beautifully. This album is a must for every collector of popular music. Both thumbs up! We are still waiting for more Feyer (his series of "Echoes..." (of Broadway, Hollywood, Paris, Budapest, Rome etc.), which made him famous in America.

I am 57 and I remember George Feyer's albums since I was a child.I kept many of them on vinyl from my father's collection. I will be hightly interested on getting the echoe's whole collection remastered on CD.

Don't call it 'elevator music',

This review is from: Feyer Plays Jerome Kern (Audio CD)
George Feyer has produced a small numberof albums presenting tributes to the great composers & songwriters of the 30's and 40's. He just doesn't slavishly copy Gershwin's or Kern's orRodger"s styles....he gives the a snappy new twist that would have people dancing in those elevators, doctor's offices, and supermarket. His affection for his materials shows in every strike of a key.

As I commented before, Feyer's recordings of the greats, Porter, Gershwin, and now Kern deserve to be in your library. Enjoy the nice arrangements and decide which is the best. Too bad they cost so much and that he is gone.
