We purchased this on April 14th to charge the electric netting that would be containing our six-week old chicks. We charged it in the sun for two weeks and set it up the day we moved the chicks. Ten days ago the chicks were walking through it and the light indicator was not on. We immeidately contacted Amazon and they explained that it could not be returned and we should contact the factory which we did immediately. After a week and a half of attempting to talk to Fi-Shock, they finally made phone contact this morning and told us that we had to drive the charger about 90 miles to a farm store who would then send the charger somewhere to be inspected. After explaing that we needed a charger for young chicks because of predators, this was the only option offered. Very poor customer relations.

We went to Amazon and had no problem receiving a full refund. We then ordered a ParMac 6 volt solar charger. Our main electric fence uses a 12 volt ParMac and its been great!

I have a great, but energentic dog who loves to dig, dig, dig! She had consentrated her energy to one side of the fence, so I ran an electric wire where she had been busy. One touch was all it took. Now she barks at the fence with displeasure, but that is OK because I don't need to worry about her digging out anymore.

If I could give this zero stars I would. Follow all the directions, put it in the sun for three days hooked it up nothing. Can send it back because it has a battery in it. Won't bye from this company ever again.

This little charger works great. It is keeping in my rambunctious minihorses just fine. Putting out almost as much juice as the big Parmak for my stallion. I would use this for a stallion or mares. May not quite be strong enough for cows/bulls. My only complaint is that it did not come with the wires to attach to the fence and ground but I reclaimed the alligator clips from a broken unit so no biggie (for me, at least). Up and running in minutes after the 3-day charge up period.

These don't last forever but 5 years is pretty good. We put this up to secure wifey's garden from the hungry groundhogs that savaged her crops. They've not returned.

Very happy with this unit. I created a 3-wire perimeter around my chicken coop and after letting it charge for 3 days (as instructed) I turned it on. The indicator light did not flash and so I went around the coop to inspect...sure enough, a piece of wired had fallen and was shorting it out; good to have an indicator!! I cleared the wire and the flashing indicator told me it's all good. Everything works and I'm happy. My only concern is that this unit sits out in the weather and the switch and panel don't appear weatherproof, but I suspect they actually are.

It's ok but this is the third one that doesn't seem to last longer than a year or so and I have upgraded to the bigger one 6v and that one seems to last and keep up very well.

This has more power than our regular electric fence.
So much flexibility to move your fencing and and no power bill. No problems with my 2 pigs.
