I love the fact that I don't have to worry about changing batteries or having live power cords outside to run these... However, I have three of them and they seem to work when they feel like it.. when they work, they are great, but.... Luckily, once the dogs get zapped a couple of times, they assume they are working all the time, and so long as they get a reminder zap once in a while, the deterring effect is still there...

I purchased this charger and it was delivered as advertised. Placed it in the daylight for three days as directed and set it up on our corral fence. Unfortunately, from the very first time it was turned on the charger did not work correctly. A call to the company yielded two solutions. (1) Place it in the sun for three more days or (2) Send it in for repair. Instead, I chose option (3) Send it back to Amazon.com (which was done in fine fashion, thank you) and purchase a Zareba LIS3B which has worked and is still working perfectly. I would not recommend the Fi-Shock SS-440.

We live in SW NM and we have sun, sun, sun, but found this charger will sometime NOT hold a charge for a day or longer. It is in the open and has all day sun exposure. A bit of a disappointment and the company is of no help in wanting to fix it or make it right. It is a poor product that was from the start and if we want to replace it or get it fixed (right after we bought it) they want us to pay shipping to get it back to them. SO, we are hoping for the best that the horse knows that it works (most of the time) and will respect that and not charge through the fence.

This works great. It keeps the cows in our pasture. Even the bull is starting to understand not to get too close. It's great not having to worry about my power going out, this thing stays charged all the time. I would highly recommend this product.

First item that I received was faulty right out of the box. Had to send it back
and get another one but turnaround time was pretty good.

I bought this unit to replace a battery-powered fence charger that I had been using for several years. The fence protects my vegetable garden from the numerous deer, raccoons, possums, groundhogs, and rabbits that live in the woods nearby. I let it charge for three days as recommended and then turned it on. Works great! It is quite a bit more powerful than my old charger, and I now don't have to worry about checking the batteries periodically.

I bought this solar electric fence as we were starting a barn project on our property. I needed to keep the horses away as we dug 40 some odd holes and needed to keep things separate. It was easy to in stall and took another 3 days to charge before starting it up. Im planning on taking it camping the next time we head out.

Fi-Shock is a quality product that meets all the claims that are presented by the Fi-Shock company. I had no knowledge of electric fences so I did some basic research and went with Fi-Shocks claims. Now several months later and I have had no difficulties with the product. My live stock are very well contained and protected in several large fenced in areas. If you decide to purchase the Fi-Shock SS-440,you will be quite satisfied.

This a great product. It works wonderfully keeping my horses in their area. Shopped around and couldn't find a better price. I will be a return shopper!
