A Great Sampler of Traditional Pacific Music,
By David Stanley (Canada) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Fiafia: Dances From the South Pacific (Audio CD)
Ad and Lucia Linkels visited Polynesia six times between 1979 and 1992 to assemble this collection of dance music from eleven Pacific countries. An interesting feature of Fiafia is that some pieces are presented in two versions, a traditional one and a more modern rendition. It's a must listen for the Pacific ethnomusicologist.
