4.0 out of 5 stars Older children can see how fabric is made
As a quilter, I enjoyed the information in this book. It is especially useful in helping make decisions on purchasing and using our fabrics. An added extra is my showing children the process by which cotton becomes fabric - the machinery is well photographed and helps children get a visual picture.

3.0 out of 5 stars Didn't help me...
I was hoping to get some simple and clear ideas how to know the quality of fabric for quilting. After I read this book, I still don't know exactly how. I guess I just need to get more experiences working with various fabrics.

5.0 out of 5 stars If only it would be reissued, August 9, 2007
This review is from: From Fiber to Fabric: The Essential Guide to Quiltmaking Textiles (Perfect Paperback)
This is a well researched and written book on an important issue for quilters who care about their work lasting for future generations. I hope the publisher will consider asking the author to update it and reissue the book for the current generation of new quilters who would benefit as well.

2.0 out of 5 stars Question the price, December 15, 2007
This review is from: From Fiber to Fabric: The Essential Guide to Quiltmaking Textiles (Perfect Paperback)
This book was requested by a relative as a Christmas gift. However, I questioned the price, even for a used copy, but decided that since it was Christmas, "what the heck", so placed the order. For the price, I expected a huge book with a lot of data, photos and illustration and couldn't hardly believe the little skinny book that was received. It may be full of information for the quilter, but I feel it is way overpriced.
