Very solid album...,

I seem to go through love/hate cycles with this album. I guess I wear it out and get sick of it, then start to miss it again.Anyway, very nice techno-synthpop (EBM, mebbe?). Lots of quick 4 on the floor, but great melodies and vocals make it totally listenable. Very solid all the way through, but I honestly wish they'd stick to one singer. The guests singers (I'm too lazy to look up names, sorry), just don't seem to cut it. If it ain't broke, don't fix it, I say! Great album, though...

I've always been a fan on electronic music, I grew up listening to New Order, Front 242, PSB, etc but for a long time I couldn't find any "new" groups that grabbed my attention. Some where to "synth-poppy" for my taste and others were to harsh or industrial. If you find yourself in a similar position as I did, you HAVE to get this CD. The first time I heard about Neuroactive was through a review on "Interface" magazine. I bought the CD just based on the rave reviews where the album was described as the perfect hybrid of EBM and synth. FOR is more than a solid album... it's also the CD that renew my faith in the current synth/EBM scene. Highly recommended.

For a few years, I volunteered/ worked at my High school's radio station, working alongside our manager, learning the technical side, while DJ'ing occasionally. I had dabbled in techno and electronica, but my genre was Rock. As we packed up to move into our new building, we started to ditch the thousands of CD's the station had, in favor of digital media. Somehow, Fiberoptic rythm was among the CD's I took with me, it wasn't anything I would've taken, but I'm glad it happened. Visualize, Defeated, and the title track are all great, but there really isn't any fat on this album.

"Fiber-Optic Rhythm" is a pleasant sounding CD, more synthpop than EBM with a little techo thrown in for good measure.
There are some great tracks on the CD, my favorite being "Visualize". Guest vocalist Geoff Pickney (of "The Nine") is the slam dunk to an utterly fantastic track. "Fiber Drum" is a pounding instrumental. "Moments Passing By" is really good as is "Parallel". The rest of the tracks are pretty fillerish, well maybe with the exception of the title track. There's promise here definitely.

Boring, plain and dull,

Some people say they sound like Depeche Mode or Camouflage and that they have a moody, dark synth pop sound. OK. There is anything like Depeche Mode here, only the singers voice who in a very succesful way sings like Dave Gahan. But who said that moody or dark synth pop has to be dull and plain? Depeche Mode may have some moody and dark songs but all of those songs have a good melody, that's why Depeche Mode is such a great band. Just think of this album like the worst moments of Camouflage. Many Camouflage songs sound to me like dull and boring songs too without any melodies but they have also very good songs. In this album there is no highlight, all the songs sound the same and they have a thing in common: lack of melodies. I couldn't even hear this album once I just quit it. Maybe if you hear this album from another perspective you could like it but with a reference like a Depeche Mode sound a like you will certainly be QUITE DISAPPOINTED.
