Editorial Reviews

Amazon.com Review

This beautiful book is likely to convince you that the most innovative of today's arts can't be seen on the computer screen or canvas, but instead on and in fabric.

I was absolutely stunned by the 600 pieces of fine art and craft created from fibers and dyes. The range of design, composition, color combinations, and sheer unbounded creativity are extraordinary. Highly recommended for anyone interested in contemporary and innovative arts, and a great ideas resource for traditional and digital designers--including creators of Web graphics. (In fact, I've given a copy of this book as a Christmas present to a multimedia artist friend of mine at Microsoft who also designs book and CD covers).

From Library Journal

For the last 20 years, Fiberarts Magazine has showcased the creations of textile artists working in all fiber and fabric media, from the amateur basketmaker to the professional tapestry designer. This volume in their "Design Book" series commemorates the 20th anniversary of Fiberarts by displaying 600 pieces chosen from more than 6000 entries submitted by artists in 34 countries. Editors based their choice on "artistic integrity, technical expertise, and innovative ideas." The result is a gallery of full-color photographs grouped by medium or theme, each with a short annotation including the artist's name, country of origin, title, and a short description of the piece. With so many pieces, unfortunately, some of the larger pieces cannot be shown in detail. Nevertheless, this latest series entry once again brings us the cutting edge of fiber art. Recommended especially for subject collections and academic libraries.

I love wearable art. Although this book only has one chapter on this subject, the book is worth it. It came to me in EXCELLENT condition; it was delivered on time (actually it came before expected) and I will use this vendor again.
