I purchased two of these planters about a year ago off Amazon and now that they have survived a winter and summer, I feel confident about writing a good review on this product.

These planters flank either side of the front entryway to my house. Upon receiving the planters I was very pleased with the quality of fiberglass and production. One thing to keep in mind is that these planters do not come with any drain holes or interior containers. So, before putting in dirt, you will want to drill a few holes in the bottom to ensure proper drainage. I used a 1/4" drill bit as this was enough to allow water to drain, but not enough to allow dirt to fall out.

One important thing to keep in mind is that these planters hold a lot of dirt. The cheapest option I found is to simply fill the bottom 3/4 of the planter with plain top-soil (which can be purchased by the bag at any big box store for a couple dollars) and then fill the last 3/4 with my good planting soil/peat moss mix. You'll need about a bag and half of the top soil to fill 3/4 of one planter.

Because these are clearly intended to be commercial grade planters, I'm not worried at all about the longevity of them. These planters sit outside 365 days out of the year through harsh Chicago winters and harsh Chicago summers and have shown no sign of wear what-so-ever. They look as perfect as the day I bought them.
